"Stupid rain,"

A groan came out of your mouth while you rushed through the school's quadrangle to get to the school library located in the other wing of Duxston Highschool.

The next day flew by, which meant you had to meet Michael in the library after classes to help each other figure out who was attempting to smear your image in the publication for months. Despite your dislike for one other, you were apprehensive but determined to find out who had been committing such an obsessive and insensitive activity with the assistance of Michael.

When dismissal finally arrived, you made your way to pass across the open area. But suddenly, the rain decided to shower in a violent manner once you were halfway through the quadrangle.

You were now racing for your life to prevent getting soaked further by the storm. You used your backpack as a makeshift umbrella by raising it above your head. Perhaps you would not be in this position if you had only listened to what the weatherman had to say about today's weather on the early morning news.

Once you reached the other building and took shelter, you let out a sigh of relief. Luckily, your black backpack was made out of leather so your school things were entirely protected from the rain, except for you.

Your arms were gushing wet from raindrops, your apparel, especially your denim jeans was damp, and your Adidas shoes were doused as well.

"Great. Now I have to wait for myself to dry,"

You planted yourself on one of the chairs placed outside the hallway before opening the front pocket of your bag to search for the small towel you brought and wipe the damp areas on your body.

You glanced at your wristwatch and it read 3:42 pm. Since it was Friday, all of you were dismissed early and it gave you enough time to meet up with Michael for an hour as you had to head home before 6.

Supposedly you were going to ask Irene to come with you to the library, but unfortunately, she couldn't since she and her parents were going straight to the mall once they fetched her from school leaving you with no choice but to go solo.

As soon as you dried off after a few minutes, you slung one of the straps of your backpack on your shoulder and speed-walked towards the library located at the very end of the corridor.

When you pushed open the doors, you were welcomed by a blast of cool air from the air conditioning unit. You shuddered a little as you were still moist from the rain, and walked into the library, allowing the door to close on its own.

The atmosphere was serene; students lounged at tables, flicking over the pages of various books; some wandered through classified bookcases, while others... were deeply slumbered, their heads resting on the wooden tables.

You scanned the place as you sauntered the area in hopes to locate where Michael was and found him sitting by the Fiction Books section reading a book. You rushed towards the boy, softly doing a psst! as you came closer.
