The next day being a Sunday Marinette had taken the liberty of oversleeping. Little did she know that Volpina was on the prowl – yes - Lila Rossi had been akumatised.
She had made an illusion of Ladybug killing Cat Noir.
Standing at the Eiffel tower, she tries to convince the people that Ladybug had gone over to the dark side:
"People of Paris! I am Volpina - Paris' one and only superhero who still remains in your service! - It pains me to deliver to you the news of Cat Noir's death- or as I should say – Murder!"
Horrified Gasps can be heard from the crowd as Volpina continues speaking – "It is also my duty – dear citizens of Paris, to inform you that Ladybug- the finest superhero the world has ever seen has now joined Hawkmoth. My heart aches to know that the one I- no – we considered a friend – a protector has now betrayed us."
Lila now displays her extraordinary talent in acting as she pretends to sob.
After giving the crowd gathered below enough respite to think over what she said, she continues -
"Each one of us standing here has seen how that traitor used Cat Noir's own Cataclysm against him, leaving behind not even dust. He was a perfect superhero in every aspect – Tell me, Citizens of Paris – When will another Cat Noir come?!!!"
Lila waits, giving the people time to reflect over her words. Then she opens her mouth again, trying to work up their emotions to a frenzied pitch.
"Citizens of Paris!- I request you to join me in this fight against a traitor. She was like a viper lurking in the shadows waiting to strike, and this blow that she has struck has perhaps been too much for us to handle, but now I urge you all to rise up against this wolf in sheep's clothing – Citizens of my beloved country! Let us together show her today that no matter what she does – we will always keep fighting and One day – We Will Win!"
Lila ends her speech with a bow knowing that she had managed to tune the people against ladybug. Now all she had to do was make sure that Cat Noir didn't come in between while the angry crowd she raised handled Ladybug.
