Six years.
It had been six long years since the brothers last saw each other, yet they still hadn't shared an ounce of care or a proper meeting.
Na Yuta had become a prominent actor in Japan. Thanks to his extensive connections, his mafia background remained hidden, allowing him to live peacefully with the Nakamoto family, who were close to their father. His reputation was formidable. While Jaemin held a high rank in the underground world, Yuta had secured his place in the entertainment industry.
Not much had changed in his appearance over the years—his hair had grown longer, and his face had matured. But those predatory eyes, that mischievous smirk, and his sharp tongue remained as captivating as ever.
"You said you wouldn't check in," Jaemin remarked, his tone low and casual. "Are you here to boast about your fame again?"
"Actually, I'd rather share some good news," Yuta replied with a snort. "Remember Haraki from the Mitsugawa House? She's dead."
Jaemin arched an eyebrow. "And you're telling me this because...?"
"Well, she was the Ruby Princess, Dad arranged for you to strengthen our ties in Japan. With her gone, you're free now."
"Ah, her..." Jaemin hummed disinterestedly, shifting his gaze to the papers strewn across his desk. "If you don't have anything else to say, you're free to go."
Yuta laughed. "You talk like you're the older brother. I still demand some respect, Jaemin."
Rolling his eyes, Jaemin shot back, "What am I doing right now? I didn't call my men to drag you outside. Isn't this what respect looks like?"
Yuta's grin faded as he leaned over the desk, scrutinizing the papers. "Are we still financially stable?"
"What do you mean? We've never lost budget."
"Because the Lees are involved. With them around, we won't face a shortage; they hold all the financial accounts."
Jaemin sighed, clearly annoyed. "Can you leave? I can't concentrate."
"What if I suggested you marry Lee Soohyun's daughter? Would you do it?"
Jaemin's brows furrowed as he looked up at his now-grinning brother. "What kind of trash are you spouting now?"
Yuta shrugged. "Just a suggestion. You're close to him, and he sees you as a son ever since he raised you after Mom and Dad died. Plus, they control our finances, so marrying his daughter would strengthen our ties."
Jaemin slammed his hand on the desk. "We won't lose our finances. Marrying his daughter or not, the Lees will never turn their backs on us."
"Brother, they're capable of that. They hold significant power over the organization now, and you don't just depend on Soohyun; you rely on his eldest son, Mark, who's your right hand, by the way."
Jaemin fell silent.
"At this point, the organization isn't just yours. It's a partnership between the Na and Lee families. Marry his daughter to solidify your position," Yuta insisted, a grin creeping across his face. "Besides, it looks like you already have her wrapped around your finger."
Jaemin snapped at him.
Yuta chuckled softly, leaning in. "I saw you two at the bar the other day. You kiss like you've been doing it for ages." He then tappedJaemin on the shoulder and stood up straight. "I must go now. I'm heading back to Japan tomorrow."
