One Year Later..

The world around them had not changed dramatically, yet it pulsed with the simmering tension of power and loyalty among the families. The Nucleus had solidified its status as a formidable force, flourishing under the joint leadership of Jaemin and Areum, who had seamlessly merged their influences into a single, unassailable unit. Others in the underworld either bowed in submission or dared to launch attacks, fully aware of the risks that came with challenging the newly consolidated power.

Jaemin's throne seemed to rise higher with each passing day, as if the very fabric of the organization was woven into his identity. He had become a symbol of strength and dominance, inspiring fear and respect in equal measure.

On the personal front, life had taken a blissful turn for Jaemin and Areum. The couple basked in the glow of their shared happiness, particularly after the shocking revelation two months ago that they were expecting a baby. That fateful night, a wild bout of passion had culminated in an unexpected, joyous surprise.

Jaemin had reacted like a lion cornered, fury erupting within him as he stormed around their office, grappling with the implications of impending fatherhood. The aftermath of a failed tracking operation had left him sleepless for days, resulting in significant damage to their Japan quarters—an operation secretly managed by Yuta. Enemy forces had infiltrated their territory, and Jaemin had dedicated himself to rectifying the fallout, ensuring that both his men and their business were safe from further harm.

"Damn it, I can't let this happen again," he muttered, his fists clenched as he poured over maps and strategies late into the night.

Finally, once the dust settled and a sense of normalcy returned, he sought solace in Areum's arms. The late-night strategy sessions transformed into moments of intimacy, as they made up for lost time and rekindled their connection. He had become hyper-aware of her presence, ensuring that Areum was always within arm's reach, a constant reminder of their shared love and the new life they had created together.

"Areum, if it's a boy, can I buy him all the toys?" Chenle quipped, a playful glint in his eyes as he lounged in their makeshift living area.

"If it's a girl?" Areum challenged, raising an eyebrow.

"Then I'll buy her dresses," he replied, grinning.

Jaemin, seated at his desk and distracted by the playful banter, interjected, "You shouldn't be the one spoiling, Le." He shot a teasing glance their way. "Besides, the baby will need to choose their favorite uncle. You have to be unique!"

Areum scoffed, a mock glare on her face. "And you're really setting up our child in a game?"

"Our child, chérie," Jaemin corrected, his expression shifting from playful to serious. "I'm starting to think you resent me for being the father."

"More like you didn't even give me cake when I asked for it."

"Baby, they were out of your favorite flavors."

"Then make one!" she insisted, crossing her arms defiantly.

Jaemin's face fell in mock defeat, and Chenle struggled to suppress a laugh. The absurdity of their banter lightened the atmosphere, a stark contrast to the weight of their world outside.
