The Next Day

"Excuse me? Anything back there for table 14? I mean I've been here waiting 15 already I'm in a rush"
"Oh sorry I'll go check for you, sorry for your wait it's quite busy back there" as the waitress walks off Isaac is left in confusion.

"Busy? There's hardly anyone here unless that girl in front of me ordered the entire menu, my coffee should be here already"

As our main character is awaiting his coffee it has been twenty minutes now since he ordered, he starts to feel like he's going to pass out like he's losing grips on humanity, on light. Suddenly two hands grab his shoulders from behind him shocking him back into life scared and worried

"Hey Isaac!"
"Oh my! Grace! Why would you do that?! That scared the hell out of me!"
"Sorry darlin' are you okay? I thought I heard you say mum on the phone earlier?"
"Yeah she's back in town, isn't that great! We can finally go out for that meal we were planning before she had to go to LA for work!"
"Oh baby, come with me, this happens every year, you poor s.o.b."

As our main character follows Grace outside the waitress comes out with his coffee and places it on the table.

"Where are taking me? What happens every year?"
"In my experience it's best to just show you, you never believe me when I tell you" Grace has love and compassion in her voice, she cares about Isaac, more than he could ever imagine and it breaks her heart every Mothers Day, she has to take him to the same place and every year he cries and cries until today.

"The Cemetery? Why are we at the cemetery?"

"Look Isaac, this  is never easy for me so just please trust me and stay calm"

They stand over the cleanest most beautifully kept headstone in the whole cemetery and as Isaac reads the words carved across the headstone he's in such disbelief he disappears into himself, and Isaac was never seen again. In his place was someone else that looked just like Isaac but deep in his soul, Isaac is no more.
