Sakura
I walk into the gym and walk over with the rest of the girls. The sound of Coach Miyamura clearing her throat freezes any chatter. "Today, we'll be fusing the boys and girls gym classes for a game of volleyball," she informs us all. While the other girls cheer, I freeze. My heart speeds up dangerously fast an my skin pales. I haven't played volleyball in nearly two year. Not after what happened. My dad was a famous volleyball player but when he got hurt and crippled, I gave up as well. Seeing someone I care about so much getting hurt scared the crap out of me and scared me away from volleyball. "Coach, can I stay out of this on" I ask. "Unless you have any injuries then no," she says strictly. I groan to myself as well as curse her. The gym door opens and all of the girls begin to scream. Rolling my eyes, I turn my head to see Oikawa entering the room. That explains the squeezing girls. "Sakura-san," he hums, wrapping his arm around me shoulder. Everyone stares at us in chock but I simply shove his arm away. "Back off, Oikawa. I'm not in the mood right now," I glare. "Calm down, Sakura-san. I just came to say, game on." He smirks. Rolling my eyes, I walk away. Coach Miyamura stands up front and shouts. "Today, we are adding a twist to the game. Whoever misses the ball is out until the game is eventually one on one. That will be the showdown," she shouts. We all take our positions around the court and the coach blows her whistle. As much as I don't want to play, my competitive side comes out. The rest of the team eventually out on both sides. Leaving just me and Oikawa. This is the time I play for real. Every attack we sent at each other is only sent back with double to force. He looks at me shocked as he sends a further attack, expecting ke to be too slow. Sadly for him, me and my brother are the fastest in our family. In a quick second, I'm in the back of the court, knocking it over the net in full force. Oikawa sends me accross the entire course, hoping to dilute my energy. Finally, the couch yells. "Class is over. The game is a tie," she snaps. Oikawa and I both collapse to the ground in pure exhaustion. Both of our teams cheer and the girls all rush towards me, crowding around me on the floor. "Oh my god. You're so good," one squeals. I never bothered to remember her name though. "Can you teach me?" "You should join the team." Out of nowhere, everyone he goes silent. Oikawa walks over an stabs both of my hands and pulls me up. A gust of wind hits me as I fly into his arms. "Good game," he smiles. Realization hits me. I played. I broke the promise I made to myself. "Dammit," I mutter to myself. "Sakura, why didn't you tell me you could play like that. You should play for the girls team," he smiles. "Not my thing," I shrug, lieing to his face. "Bullshit. That's not just natural talent. You practiced," he claims. "And then I quit," I say back. Before he can say another word" I walk out of the door.
