A green portal formed in a dark room, illuminating the area. Three people stepped out from it. The first was a blue alien, holding a silver, sleek gun. He was equipped with multiple types of armor, tools and technology. After him, a tall, pale girl with long blonde hair stepped through, with crystal blue eyes and a scar on her forehead. Finally, a man with slightly tanned skin stepped through. He had dark blonde hair, and towered over the other two both in height and weight.
"This should be the place." The blue alien said as the portal closed behind them.
"Liam, last time you said that, we almost got killed," the girl spoke. "Please don't jinx us again."
"I get the coordinates wrong ONE TIME and you HAVE to bring it up EVERY TIME, Daphne?" Liam responded, pulling out a flashlight, as he walked through the dark room.
"It was more than one time..." The man spoke, following Liam.
"Shut it, Jack." The alien said back without hesitation.
Daphne's hands began glowing a feint white, helping to illuminate the room. The room in question had matte black walls, a low ceiling, and seemed to go on forever, almost like an endless hallway of darkness.
"You're sure this is the place?" Jack asked, continuing to follow Liam and Daphne.
"To be completely honest with you, no, not really." Liam responded, pulling out a bottle of whiskey from his back pocket, taking a swig.
"Something is off about this place..." Daphne spoke quietly.
"What, was it the perfectly black, endless hall of nothing, or the fact that..." Liam's words trailed off as he looked at the floor.
Jack stepped over to Liam, where in front of his feet, the floor was cracked, it looked barely stable.
"Okay... don't make any sudden movements..." Liam told the group, looking down at the cracks.
The cracks slowly started spreading, the floor becoming less and less stable.
Daphne, looking at the cracks, began levitating off of the floor, hovering just above the ground.
They all stood in silence, knowing any slight movement could cause the floor to collapse. Jack looked down at the floor, closely analyzing it, before looking at Liam.
"It's gonna cave in, we have maybe 20 seconds."
Liam looked at him, before pointing his portal gun away from Daphne and Jack. "Fuck it, let's get out of here before we-"
Before he could fire the gun, the floor collapsed. Jack and Liam both fell, Daphne hovering above the hole. Below the room of black, was now a room of all white, spreading on infinitely. Liam activated an energy force field around him self, the forcefield shattering once he hit the ground, but it protected him, leaving him to land on his feet safely. Jack, on the other hand, slammed into the ground, but stood up as if it was nothing, before looking around the vast infinite of pure nothing.
"What is this place, Liam...?" Daphne asked, hovering down to meet them.
"You think I - BUURP - fucking know?" Liam stuttered, taking another drink of alcohol.
"I can't get any coordinates." Jack said. "Seems as though we are nowhere... Perhaps between two dimensions?"
As they conversed, a woman appeared in the air. She had dark skin, black hair, and wore very casual clothes. Jack looked up at her, putting his hand at his side, ready to grab his weapon. Liam, without hesitation, pointed a weapon at her.
"WHO THE FUCK ARE YOU, AND WHERE THE FUCK ARE WE?" Liam shouted at her.
Daphne looked at Liam, unamused, and levitated up to the woman's position, meeting her eye level.
"Hello, my name is Daphne, and I think we may have accidentally stumbled into your... land." She spoke. "We are sincerely sorry for any issues we've caused- we'd be happy to fix the damage we've-"
The woman cut Daphne off, her voice echoing as she spoke. "Your being here was no accident."
Daphne froze, looking at her confused. The woman levitated down to meet Jack and Liam's level, Daphne following her.
"You three have been called here to pay for your crimes." She said calmly.
"Sorry- crimes?" Jack asked. "What crimes have we committed that warrant us being warped out of reality?"
Liam's face dropped slightly, speaking under his breath. "Fuck I knew this would come back to bite me in the ass..."
"You have been abusing inter-dimensional travel." She told them.
"Huh?" Liam stuttered. "OH- okay that's... not as bad as I thought."
"What other crimes were you-?" Jack began questioning Liam. "Besides the point... Since when is inter-dimensional travel illegal?"
"And by whos laws?" Daphne asked.
"The Inter-Dimensional Defense Federation." She told them.
"Yeah, of-fucking-course that exists." Liam replied under his breath.
"Crossing between dimensions is a highly dangerous act, as it opens rifts between two dimensions." She explained to them. "Doing so too many times can cause severe problems; it could cause a permanent, un-closeable rift-"
"Wait, wait, wait..." Jack cut her off. "We have been crossing dimensions for years. Why is it only now a problem?"
"The first time you crossed dimensions, it was an accident." She said. "The power surge between Ray Ryton and his weapon caused a rift. Every other act you took, involving dimension hopping, could be justified in some way."
"Oh.... shit..." Liam said quietly.
"In recent months, your dimension crossing has been needless." She told them. "There was once a justification, but you now hop dimensions for simple needs such as groceries."
Daphne and Jack looked over at Liam.
"Groceries?" Daphne asked.
"What?" Liam replied. "I'm not paying for stupid shit. And no, not GROCERIES. How do you think I have all this tech? You think I got the money from starting my own business?"
"Regardless of your justifications, we have deemed your rifts too dangerous." She spoke. "Specifically, between dimension 1127 and 211. There have been dozens of rifts between these two dimensions, enough to warrant a major concern."
Liam then looked over at Jack. "And who, exactly, travels between those two dimensions so often, HUH?"
"We sincerely apologize for these issues, we simply didn't know they were dangerous." Daphne explained to the woman. "We will inform all to stop crossing dimensions from here on out."
"That is not enough."
"Then... what is enough?"
"These rifts have become too common between these dimensions, and could soon lead to 1127 and 211 colliding." The woman told them. "One of these dimensions must be eliminated to prevent this collision."
The three went silent.
"Since you three travel dimensions the most commonly, we have given the choice to you." She told them. "Either 1127 or 211 must be destroyed. You have one earth week. Once a week passes, you will be called back here, and I expect an answer. If not, we will simply destroy both."
The woman pointed her palm at them, a white flash blinding them.
Liam rubbed his eyes and stood up. The three were no longer in the infinitely white room, they were back home, in the middle of the city.
