A week had passed by since Ryan had met both Maya and Carina.

The arm grabbing from Hannah had escalated to hitting her back, threatening her and pulling her hair. Because the things didn't show on her body and nobody noticed, it would keep going and Ryan didn't dare to say a word to anyone about it.

Carina had been nonstop thinking about the teenage girl, it was something about her that just made her feel a certain way. She felt the need to protect this girl, to keep her safe. And there was also something that made her feel uneasy about when they left that place and Ryan was there still.

Now, a Saturday morning the sun was shining and it was so hot outside. But still, Ryan was found sitting in the garden once again like usually are.

"Pack your bag, there's a family picking you up" A voice interrupted Ryan's thoughts.

Just by the tone of the voice she could tell who it was. She sighed and stood up, she felt like she didn't have any control of her life. I mean was she just supposed to pack her life in to a backpack and move to another family that she didn't even know?

"And I hope to god that you behave, I don't want to see you back here again" Hannah muttered under her breath when the two of them had walked down the stairs to wait for the car.

It was a surprise when she saw Maya and Carina pulling up, stepping out of the car and greeting them.

"Uh I- I didn't know you were coming" Ryan said nervously, looking at the two women.

"Here is her medicine for her asthma, and give us a call if there is anything you need" Hannah told Maya and Carina, soon walking back inside the building.

"Didn't anyone tell you that we are fostering you right now? I thought that they had spoken to you" Maya asked the girl gently, not wanting it to seem like it was the teenagers fault.

"No but it's okay" Ryan fiddled with her backpack until Maya took it and placed it in the backseat.

The teenager took a deep breath before she even opened the car door, feeling anxiety bubbling up when she buckled herself in and the car started. Her anxiety kept getting worse and she almost reached the limit were she had to tell them to stop the car.

"Are you okay back there? It is only five more minutes" Maya informed the girl, looking in the review mirror.

"I'm okay" Ryan nodded, trying to keep her attention on the road.

Just like Maya promised, five minutes later, they were finally stopping outside of the apartment building. Maya went to help Ryan with her backpack and carry it to their flat but the teenager politely declined her help and insisted on carrying it on her own.

Once they were inside the apartment, the first thing that Ryan noticed was the children's toys in the living room along with multiple stuffed animals. She smiled a little bit to herself because she could almost remember that it was exactly how it looked when her little brother was a baby.

"Ah!" The tiny creature squealed, crawling at a fast speed towards the unfamiliar girl.

The tiny blonde haired boy white wide brown eyes stared at the teenager, sitting down on the floor and babbling to himself before reaching for Carina.

"This is Joel, he is a year old now, we adopted him when he was just e few weeks old" Carina explained.

"He is very cute" Ryan smiled, watching how the boy reached for Carina's curly hair to grab it.

"Ah ah, no bambino"

"So, would you like me to show you your room while Carina makes some lunch?" Maya offered, earning a nod from the girl.
