I first show him the big office or as we call it, 'The Bunch' because it's basically just a bunch of desks for detectives and officers put together in kind of a pattern. When Captain Dex first introduced this, my mind immediately went to hell.

I don't know what went on in my brain for when I had shouted out, "Then which bastard's sitting next to me?" and exactly how I met Maeve. Maeve and I were only junior detectives back then and we only knew the basics but thank fuck, Captain Dex decided to put us next to each other.

Otherwise I wouldn't be able to handle a man who is about forty or fifty years old, incredibly overweight, can't handle his alcohol limit and watches his overly-priced donuts like a hawk and that's just stupid officer Carl Cooper.

You know, I could get out of this hell hole by going for my lieutenant's exam and actually making it as a lieutenant but you know what.. I actually don't mind being a senior detective.

The pay roll is quite high, I always have fun on the job, I eat whenever, I expand my mind and my swear word vocabulary and I catch bad guys for a living. What other job gets to do that, that fun? Oh, just me?

"We normally spend our hours in here, eating, doing excess paper work that we really don't need to be doing, in the summer that involves sleeping away in front of the station TV or eating ice cream by the dozen. You see, your desk will be far away from mine because you already have annoyed the fuck out of me, so you can go..." I lead Williams over to a desk that is about four or five desks away from mine.

Apparently that's the furthest I'm allowed to go from my partner. I haven't even got to know him and I hate his guts. "You know you could give me a chance." sighs Williams, putting his hands in his pockets of his blazer, "I'm actually a good guy, Astoria."

I snap, pin him against a wall, raising my gun to his head, knowing full well that my gun is loaded and can beat his ass in less than a heart beat, "Don't you dare call me, Astoria."

"Fine, fine. Can I at least call you, Assie?"

"Definitely not."

"What about Astor?"

"No."

"Ass?"

"I mean I can tell in your eyes you want mine-no."

"A?"

"Hmm, how about no?"

"Okay.. ummm.. Tori?"

"That works for my family but not for you."

"What should I call you then?"

"Hmm, Black?"

"That's so boring though! Fine.."

"Good. Now Williams, you're not done your tour yet, you've only seen a little bit of the fun."
