Vivaan breathed heavily as pain rushed through his whole body. He was still holding on to his seat with the seat belt inverted since the car had turned over. The car's top hand dented, crashing into his head. He bled from the wound... He was losing consciousness as his own blood made a pool on the roof of the car and oozed out to the asphalt road.
"Vicky..." he mumbled as he saw people gather around the car. "will be waiting for me. Need to get home." The guys following him pushed through the crowd and went to the car. One of them took out his mobile and called for the ambulance, and another one called Nirmala at once. Vivaan could not stay awake anymore and fell unconscious.
Sanvika was wondering why Vivaan was getting late when Mansi - Vivaan's mother rushed into their room. "Sanvika... Sanvika... Vivaan." She appeared very flustered. That is when Sanvika got a call from Nirmala. "Vivaan got in an accident," Mansi told Sanvika in a rush.
"What?"
"Vivaan's car crashed."
"No," Sanvika mumbled. She did not accept that fact so easily. She just talked to him. He was coming home to her. He promised... Her mobile ringing felt too loud. She took the call. "Hello."
"Come to the city hospital with Vivaan's parents. Vivaan has been hurt and is being taken there." Nirmala's voice was serious but calm. "I am starting from here too."
Sanvika hung up the call. She tried calling Vivaan's phone. It rang, but nobody picked it up. "Let's go," She told Vivaan's mother, trying to act calm.
On the way, she tried to reassure herself. It may not be serious, she told herself. Maybe just a broken bone... He will be fine. She wiped the sweat from her forehead. Vivaan's mother was crying and his father was on the phone with Vivaan's brother, informing him.
Unfortunately, when they reached the Emergency Room of the hospital, Vivaan was being inspected by the doctors, having just reached there. Sanvika's eyes fell on Vivaal lying on the stretcher. Blood covering the side of his head and still bleeding onto the sheets. She froze as Mansi let out a wail behind her and fell to the floor. Vivaan's father, Gautham tried to calm his wife down.
Sanvika walked to Vivaan like a ghost, pale and unable to take her eyes off him. His suit was covered in blood. "The vitals are not good," The lady doctor examining him told the juniors. "Hurry, get his MRI and call the Neurology department. It's severe brain trauma."
Sanvika looked up from Vivaan to the doctors. She was so close to his body now. She touched his hand. The doctor looked up at Sanvika... "Are you family?" She asked.
"No. Yes. Wife...." She had forgotten for a second that she and Vivaan were now a family officially.
"What are you doing?" She yelled at the junior doctors. "MRI. Fast...." The junior doctors rushed Vivaan away. The doctor turned to Sanvika. "We can't say anything for now. He has lost a lot of blood. Things do not look that good."
Sanvika was too shocked to react. Behind her, Mansi Oberoi began to wail even louder. "My son... Vivaan..."
"We need you to fill up the admission forms." The doctor told Sanvika. Sanvika was not sure her fingers will work to write on the forms. But she nodded and followed the doctor as Vivaan's parents did not look in any condition to do that.
Nirmala came when Sanvika was filling up the form. She went straight to Mansi who was still crying. Sanvika finished filling the forms and came back to the family. "How are you holding up?" Nirmala asked her. She did not reply. "I came as soon as I could."
