The family from canada have accepted your proposal. The engagement has been fixed on the 10th, followed by the wedding. And then, they will go back to Canada with you.

These words were ringing in my mind with strong attacks. My world has changed upside down in these lines, which my mother brought up with so much joy. She was almost chirping with every sentence and here was me.

I have my entrance exam on the tenth.

"See, they are discussing about your wedding", as if in case I needed further proves. I saw my dad, hugging her Mr. Khurana and greeting Mrs. Khurana, while blessing Monty, who was still giving me evil looks.

Then my mom said, "Anokhi, this is a very good alliance." She was trying to make herself understand the thing perhaps. Because I wasn't in condition to listen her. Then, she spoke again in a worrisome tone, "Don't create any problems, don't do anything stupid."

Well, that was it. I didn't know what to do. How to escape from this?
The holy fire that was still burning, started to seem as my dreams were burning in that too. But, no I couldn't loose this easily. I had to do something.

The engagement and the entrance exam both are on the tenth.
How will I manage both at the same time?

~~~
Well the wedding had been completed. Mom was packing some stuff before us returning home.
And I was peeking out from the door. My eyes were on Monty, who was talking to someone on his mobile 📱.
I needed to talk to him, like right now.
But, mom caught me trying to bake something in my mind. She stopped me by pushing me her side, from my elbow.
"What are you planning to do?
Look, I beg you, don't create any problems or mess."
"But, Mom, they haven't told me yet whether I can continue my studies or not."
"They haven't told you anything yet, because they don't care."
"But I care, right? "
"Try to understand.
Your education isn't important to them."
"But, it is important for me.
I have told them clearly that I want to continue my studies and they will have to promise me that I can continue, Mom."
I wasn't going to stop until they convince me that my education is not going to falter. After all, my choice matters too. I tried to gain myself from her control. But, she stopped me again.
"Listen to me.
Anokhi, just listen to me!"
Sorry, Mom you are late. Today I'm not gonna stop until I get what I want, my right to education. I knew she was going to follow me, but her already unsuccessful attempt got hindered by my aunt who had come to call her for the final goodbye of Dolly Di.
I didn't stop to listen them, but she took my mom with her for clicking pictures with the professional photographer specially, called from Chandigarh. I didn't stop until I reach him. He was still conversing on phone, but as soon as he saw me, he decided to end up the convo. Good for him, as I wasn't going anywhere till I get my answers straight and clear.
