Chapter 2 : Say Hello!

"Nev' meet-"

"Zayn" my voice cut off Lola's.

He gave me a confused look. Obviously. I gave him a smile and walked towards him. I stretched my right hand towards him.

He just stared at my palm, " I'm Nevah and I like your powers", I beamed. He tore his gaze from my hand and stared at me "Oh! That's my power". Hearing that, the corner of his lips curled a little and then he shook my hand.

Okay!! So you can read thoughts.....and I can disappear and go anywhere I want. Its good to know that I'm not the only weirdo here.

So, his power was way cooler than mine, he can actually disappear and appear from one place to another. WOW.

Suddenly Lola's voice broke into my thoughts, " Okay. So Zayn and Nevah, you both will be living with us from now on wards." We both looked at each other and then back to Lola. She just gave us a confident smile.

Don't worry dear I'll take good care of you and Zayn.

"Who's hungry?? Leo are you?" Leo nodded and exited the room with Lola, leaving me and Zayn alone .

"This place makes my skin crawl.", I broke the silence between us.

"Yeah. It did, when I came here the day before ". That was the first time I heard his voice, I even started to think that this guy was a mute. His voice was soft, but a bit husky .

"But its not as scary as it looks" he gave me an assuring wink.

"So?? You can hear what I'm going to say ?? Is that your power?"he asked stressing the word power.

"No. Well, kind of. I can hear your thoughts, only if I want to."

"That's how you knew mine??"

"Yeah."

"Kids , I've made burgers." Lola called us from the kitchen.

We both walked towards the door. "Wait! Can you show me ?If you can, you know." I asked Zayn.

"Kay" he let out a small smile.

He closed his eyes and then 'PooF'. I was staring into thin air .

Wow!!Now that was amazing.

He was a bit shy. I could see that, because for him me , Lola and Leo were still strangers, he kinda felt uneasy. Not only I, but even Lola could see that.

"Son, We are a family now. Okay? Feel free". Lola said giving a small pat on his shoulder.

He gave a healthy smile, that generally assured something. He took his plate and sat on the chair opposite to me.
