After a long, boring lecture that lasted for two hours, Y/N sighed as she slouched in her seat, staring out of the window. "Thinking of someone are we?" she hears behind her.
"Yes Maria, I'm thinking of doing my teacher over on the desk" Y/N replies back sarcastically. She received an amused chuckle. "Dang, Y/N going for the big fish. Get me good grades and I might be able to sneak some handcuffs in for ya" she retorts. Sitting up in shock, she lets out an obviously forced laugh. "Ha, ha, playing the joker today are we? You're usually nicer!" Y/N ends with a whine. "I have to work my nightmare of a shift today and this is the lovely treatment I get before I have to go and sacrifice myself?" she complained while packing up her things and slinging her bag against her back. Maria let out a motherly sigh. "You shouldn't be working your butt off to begin with! We're 17 Y/n, you should be out sleeping with your teacher and dumb stuff". Waving her friend off, she begins to walk away, "Maria, I appreciate you caring for me, but you know I have to do this". Deciding against trying to fight with further, Maria decided to end the conversation with a hug from the back. "I love you" she mutters. With a slight smile, Y/N replies, "I love you too".

Walking out of the school, Y/N takes a glance at her watch. "5:32pm" it read. She had decided to stop by the library to do a little of reading to de-stress, but she got a little carried away. As she walked forward onto the dark road. She made her way to her house, remembering that she needed to change because of Garry's spilt drink on her shirt. Faintly in the distance, she could hear a bunch of laughing and could have sworn she heard an insult. She ran forward and saw a group of people surrounding someone.

*Y/N's Perspective*:

All I could make out was brown hair, but I needed to step in. I just had to. I pull one of the main bully off of the brunette and push him away, placing myself in front of the boy. "Whatever you're mad about, it's not worth beating this boy over. Talking to each other is an option you know", I say, putting my hands up in a defensive matter. Deciding I was not a threat, the man in the blue shirt, the main bully, laughs at me. Soon accompanied by his friends. This was my chance to get the boy out of here. As I bend over to help him up, I'm pushed roughly to the ground.

"You want to play the hero and get away with it? If you wanna save this ticking freak, you'll have to fight me and my gang first!" he ends with a proud smirk on his face. I pick my self off the ground and launch at him with a punch. I managed to land a strong right hook on his face. "I wasn't prepared! How dare you hit me?!" he yells at me, covering his eye with his hand. I grin, proud with my start and say, "You asked me if I wanted to play the hero to save the boy, and I do, so sure. I'll fight a bunch of scrawny excuses of grown men". That seemed to snap something inside them as one of the bullies came at me with a kick. I grabbed his leg and pushed him onto another dude. 3 down, 2 to go. As I turned to fight the next one, his friend came behind me and restrained my arms so I couldn't fight back using my hands. He came up to me and landed a punch onto my face and one in the gut. Didn't expect them to actually be this strong. I manage to pull my legs up and block off his attack, as well as managing to kick him in the face. As he fell backwards and on to the ground, I roughly kick backwards, hitting my captor in his weakest spot. In pain and shock, he releases me from his grasp and I rush over to the boy. I just hope that I'm not too late.

He looked at the scene around him and then landed his gaze on me. His hand was doing a twitching movement that he couldn't seem to control. His other arm seemed to be broken or injured in some way and he was trying to move it. "Hey, you should avoid moving it. If you are seriously injured, you could make it permeant". I explained as I searched through my bag for bandages.

Once I had found them in one of the pockets, I turned to him, seeing he was trying to get up and run away. "Hey!" I yelled in alarm as I tried to pull him back by the sleeve. He roughly pushes me back, "Don't think that just because y-you "saved" m-me I'm go-oing to let you pity m-me" he said. "I'm not going to b-be pitied by s-some stupid s-school girl" he continued as he reached for something by his side. A hatchet? How did I not notice that? I slapped him at the back of his head. "Jeez, you're so dramatic. I guess this is what I get for helping some odd scruffy boy on the side of the road" I said. He stared at me, and even without being able to see his face, I could tell he had a confused expression on his face. "What? I had to return the insult" I replied with a slight smile as I began to unwrap the bandages. "Now, you want to be a dog and run away to die somewhere from blood loss, or do you want me to patch you up?" In response, he put the hatchet back in its place and went to sit in his original place.

"Talk about a good first impression" I said while sitting near him. He was wearing orange goggles and wore a mouth guard. After a bit of silence, he nods his head slightly. I reach over to my bag for my water bottle, the water was still somewhat cold and I could use it to wipe the blood away. "Tell me if it hurts you in anyway, alright? I don't want to add on to the pain". He hummed in acknowledgement and I began wrapping his arm. I realized I hadn't introduced myself yet- I must look so weird in this dude's perspective. "I'm Y/N by the way" I blurted out of no where.

Once I was done, he stood up, inspecting his arm. He suddenly looked at me and said, "It's not bad". I grinned in victory. "For a stupid school girl".
"You weren't that bad either, for a bipolar scruffy dog" I spat back.
"Hey! That was a com-mpliment y-you know. You s-should be gratef-ful I didn't chop you to b-bits!"
"Okay Porky Pig, you can calm down now" I said, holding back a bit of a laugh. Glancing at the watch, I interrupted him before he could speak and said, "I have to be somewhere, but you were fun to talk to. I'll see you next time!". I grabbed my backpack from the ground and began to walk away when he suddenly put his hand on my shoulder. "We'll meet a-again, right?" I was a bit surprised, but went with it anyways.
"Oh my bad! I thought I was a stupid school girl" I said dramatically.
"Glad t-to see you've r-realized" he said with pride in his voice. "S-still, I-I want to meet up again" he ended a bit more seriously. "Alright fine, whatever you say..?" my voiced trailed off as I didn't know what to call him. "Toby" he said.
"So the dog has a name!" I remarked.
"I-I'm not a d-dog!" he yelled.

I chuckled a bit and saw the time. He must've noticed because he said, "Well y-you should p-probably go". I smiled slightly and began to sprint to my house. I only had a couple minutes to spare.

Toby looked at her until she had disappeared from his view. "We'll m-meet again. I-I'll make s-sure of it".

A/N: Sorry for the late update! My tests are coming up so it'll be a while before I can give better updates. Please tell me if I presented Toby accurately or not. Thanks for reading! :)
