FEW HOURS LATER

Scarlett didn't know how long she was waiting, but it's been hours.

The sun had already set and it was dark outside. She had already fed the little girls and let them play around. She didn't have any appetite, so she decided to skip dinner. She's getting anxious as time passes by. She just wants to go inside the operating room and see for herself. She just needs to see Y/N in order for her to calm down. However, she's doing a good job of hiding her emotions. She didn't want Rose and Olivia to see her anxious and nervous. That would surely scare them.

Her Avengers family offered to pick up Rose and Olivia and babysit them while she stays at the hospital, and Scarlett thought it would be fine since it's late. But the kids didn't want to go home; they wanted to stay and wait for Y/N. So, Scarlett decided to let the kids stay with her.

Just then, the door of the operating room opens and Dr. Dean walked out.

Scarlett immediately called Rose and Olivia and she picked them up, "How is she, doc?" She asked.

"How's my mommy?" Olivia asked, pouting.

Dr. Dean smiles at Olivia, it's good to see his old student's daughter. He looked at Scarlett and the kids, still smiling. "The surgery went well, she's fine and she just needs to rest and all will be okay." He said.

Scarlett sighs in relief, while the two kids cheered, happy and excited to know that Y/N will be okay.

"Oh my," Olivia smiles widely, "My mommy will see me!" She said, clapping her hands.

"She will." Dr. Dean said, smiling.

"Can we see her, doc?" Scarlett asked, she's so happy.

"Of course," Dr. Dean said, "But she's still sleeping, we have to be careful since rest is a must for her recovery." He said.

Scarlett nodded her head, "Okay, doc. Thank you." She said.

They were guided back to their private room and Y/N was already there, sleeping peacefully. She has a bandage wrapped around her head, protecting and covering her eyes since she just went through hours of surgery.

Scarlett put down Rose and Olivia, and the kids immediately went to the bed. Holding Y/N's hand, smiling. Scarlett smiles before she looked at Dr. Dean, "How long will it take for her to heal?" She asked.

"It still depends on the patient, but usually three months. She needs some time for the stitches to heal and it will take some time for her eyes to fully heal. She also needs to get used to the light but remember, take it slow. We don't want her to suffer from bad headaches because it can also affect her eyes." Dr. Dean said.

Scarlett nodded her head, soaking in the information.

"I will also prescribe pain killers because there will be times that her head will hurt, but it's completely normal. It's part of the process of healing." Dr. Dean said.

"Yeah, okay. Thank you, doc. Really, thank you." Scarlett said, smiling.

"Of course, it's my job and I also want my best student to have her life back. She deserves all the good things in life." Dr. Dean said. And he meant that, Y/N was his best student and he was proud when she became a surgeon, one of the best and her amazing work was recognized in different countries. She was magnificent.

Dr. Dean excused himself, leaving the room and giving the family their privacy.

Scarlett walked towards the bed, she gently put the girls next to Y/N. Then she pulled the chair closer to the bed and sat on it, she held Y/N's hand in hers. "I told you, it will be successful." She whispered while kissing Y/N's knuckles.

"Mommy, Mama Bear is still sleeping. She wouldn't hear you." Rose whispered to her mom.

Olivia nodded her head, agreeing with Rose.

Scarlett chuckled, "I know, loves. I'm just happy." She said.

The two kids smiles too, nodding their head.

Scarlett smiles and looked at her girlfriend, you'll be fine, my love. We're here for you, I'm here for you. She thought.
