John F. Kennedy AirportI didn't realize I fell asleep when they made an announcement about my flight's arrival time on the speaker. Luckily, someone tapped my shoulder just to make sure I was up to date with the announcements.
"My apologies sir. I was too tired to keep my eyes open." I said with a tiny smile. He looked at me with a grin and said, "No worries, I just wanted to make sure you knew what was going on."
"What do you mean?" I said confusingly.
"The boarding time is approaching, you should start to prepare ma'am." He grinned again, then he walked away.As I'm placing Hope in my carry-on bag, I thought about how that man was a lot like me. He is concerned about other people as I am with my life. He was very kind to me on the flight as well. He let me sit near the window, because I felt like he knew that I was a girl who wanted to look at the clouds and think that they are just like people, all different shapes and sizes. It's true though, the clouds are a reflection of us. Large, small, thin, thick, but overall...everyone is different, and that's okay.
I looked out the window, looking at all the people below me. They looked like ants, and for once, I was on top of them all. I immediately fell asleep once the plane took off. I was so exhausted from staying up so long just to wait for this flight to come, and now it happened. I slept for a good four hours, and then the man woke me up.
"What a slumber you had there." He said, grinning as always.
"I've been up for a while. I thought that I could have some sleep for once today." I said, looking at the window. He asked me why I was going to Paris, and I told him that I wanted a break from New York City. Away from the cramped subway cars, loud traffic, and contagious sickness from other New Yorkers.
"May I ask for your name ma'am?" He said.
"My name is Luna, Luna Faith." I said with confidence. My mother loves naming everything with a touch of difference and uniqueness from other people. He looked at me, surprised. I knew he would be shocked to hear someone named Luna Faith, starting with the fact that no one else in the world would be named Luna Faith, which is what my mom told me, and I think she's right. Every time I introduce myself to someone, they would widened their eyes, but give me a smile afterwards, and that's when I know they like my name.
"And what's your name sir?" I asked kindly.
"Andre-Claude." He said, but I like to call him A.C. for short. A.C. had hazel eyes, and had a tattoo of a ying yang symbol on the back of his neck, which attracted me. His hair was black like the night sky, and it had a preppy style to it. He was wearing a beanie and a grey crew neck and wore black jeans. He looked like one of those Tumblr dudes who takes a lot of self portraits, but I didn't want to be stereotypical. He was nice enough to give me his pillow for his neck during the flight, and I was as comfortable as ever. He told me that he was going to Paris to visit his family. For some reason, when we first met back at the airport, he had French written all over his face. He had the French accent and was reading a history documentation about the French Revolution. He was also a history nerd, but that attracted me too.He was very handsome, I thought to myself. As I'm looking at the window, I saw one cloud that had a golden-white color from the sun's ray, and it was formed by two different clouds, and it made me think that Andre-Claude and I were the different clouds that met on that one special cloud.
