"You know you could just come in the house, right?" Star said as they walked outside seeing Alex out there waiting.
"Derek does not want to see me," Alex told her.
"You think Miss Ruby wants me in there?" Star asked her.
"Miss Carlotta. How much longer we got to stay here with Miss Ruby?" Star asked her.
"Well, insurance money is on the way. Contractors say about a month." She told them.
"A month? I don't got a month left in me with her." Star told her.
"Keep telling you we have an open room you can use," Artemis told Star.
"And third wheel with y'all no thanks," Star told her making Artemis roll her eyes.
"Girl, calm down. You got a song on the radio. Charles Floyd called us in, and I'ma use that to hit him up for some money. We can get this album done." Miss Carlotta told them.
"You think that one hot song on the radio is gonna convince him?" Simone asked her.
"No. But it's worth a try."
"And I, uh, also want to let you all know that I'm gonna chill with this whole Noah thing," Alex told them.
"Good idea." Simone, Artemis, and Star said at the same time.
"Thanks."
"Okay. We just gonna make a quick stop before we hit the label and... Y'all wait right here." Miss Carlotta told them before walking over to her sister.
"Is it Batista?" Simone asked.
"Girl now you know that's not him," Artemis said laughing.

"What... Oh..." Ayanna said as she noticed them.
"We need to talk. God." Miss Carlotta said as she looked around seeing the empty alcohol bottles.
"You can't just barge in here. I should call security." Ayanna said as they walked in.
"Simone needs her things back, but your staff won't let us in your house because you holed up over here since your daddy fired you." Miss Carlotta told her.
"Okay. Let me get your address, and I will have everything boxed up and sent to you. The caseworker called me today. And as you can see, I am in no condition to pursue this guardianship thing." Ayanna told Simone.
"Okay. Uh, how... how long do you think I have?" Simone asked her.
"I think I can try to hold them off another week," Ayanna told her.
"So much for helping her," Artemis said to Ayanna.
"Look at her she can barely help herself walk," Star said.
