Chapter 1: Getting to the Game

P.O.V Asher 

I hear a knock at the door and nearly fly downstairs. Today is the final game of the Mutant season at my school until winter break. I open the door and I see Rivers, Anna, and Jayla at the door. Even though our game is technically at 1pm we still usually meet up to practice around 11:30.

"Jackson, Colin, and Dominic are heading to the field now," Anna says looking up from her text. I can tell that they rode their mutants here judging that there is no car behind them. I look further and see all their mutants playing in the front yard.

"I'll go tell my parents you guys are here and then get my gear and Balto," I say. They all nod and I go back into the house. "The girls are here so I'm heading out. I'll see you guys at the field," I say to my parents.

"Your gear, boots, hat, and coat are laid out on our bed," I hear my mother say. "Ok" is all I say and then dash upstairs to my parents room. Just like my mother said, everything was laid out. 

Within 15 minutes I'm heading down stairs again and say a final good bye to my parents before dashing out the door.I see my friends have started playing a snowball fight when I was in my house judging by the many flying snowballs.

I go and get Balto from the backyard. I'm so glad that he can turn into a regular black wolf when not playing Mutant just like the others mutants.

"We are going to be late if you guys keep goofing around," I say.

They all stop. I guess they didn't realize me cause some of them jumped.

"Oh shoot! The boys are already at the field!" I hear Rivers say after looking at her text. (If you were wondering, they all have a team group text.) 

"Well we best get there," I say as we all command our mutants to turn into there true mutant forms. We mount our mutants and then speed of into the sky.

Sorry for such a short chapter! This is my first story so you gotta give me some slack. Also for those who read this, please comment a name for Asher's team. I will go through the comments and pick one and announce the username of the person who came up with it next chapter. Also I would like to point out that I am currently 10 years old while writing this. I just that you might want to know. And finally, I am currently writing this during my summer break, so unless I have writers block, I will probably have frequent updates. That's all for now. I hope you enjoy your summe!
