GINNY SLIPPED HER BODY THROUGH THE TIRE, LEANING BACK WITH HER BACK ARCHED. She watched the tree branches overhead, sunlight slipping through the leaves, as she spun around, and around, and around.

She closed her eyes, relishing in the dizziness and the adrenaline. With her head back, Ginny's hair fell out of her face and smeared with the dirt and grass. Blood rushed to her head, but she didn't care.

Anger that had been simmering for days now had dialled down a bit. For the first time in a while, Ginny's head was completely clear. Tom's voice wasn't there. It was wonderful.

No later than when the thought came to her, Ron came running out of the house, calling her name.

━━━━

With hair the colour of flames and a lioness smiling down on their ancestry, it was no surprise that the Weasleys had a fiery temper.

And Ginny Weasley was no exception.

A blessing or a curse, that was up to her to decide. Nowadays, though, anger was the only emotion she felt. It rose first instead of others, making her throw around words she didn't mean.

But Ginny couldn't help it. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't control it. It controlled her instead.

Why was life so unfair?

━━━━

Her mother wasn't getting off her back. She kept pushing Ginny, wanting her to speak with her, asking her to open up, which only made Ginny angrier.

However, the worst was when she tried to stop Ginny from doing things. Molly didn't want her going outside much, she didn't want Ginny playing quidditch. Ginny wasn't even allowed to go to Diagon Alley.

Molly didn't want Ginny to get hurt. Not again. She was trying to protect her daughter. She was treating her like some fragile doll, and Ginny hated that. It made her feel trapped.

Her brothers were the worst. They walked on eggshells around her, thought twice before saying something, when otherwise they wouldn't hesitate to tease her. Their behaviour did nothing but make Ginny's irritation grow.

The Chamber happened. That was that. Why couldn't they just move on?

Ginny preferred to stay out of the house. Going against her mother's wishes, Ginny would oftentimes sneak out of the garden, spending all day near the creek or the woods.

Ginny knew that the only reason her mum didn't follow her or send one of her brothers after her was because her father had stopped Molly from doing so.

Her dad was the only person in the house Ginny wasn't angry with, at the moment. He didn't shout at her, he didn't ignore her, and he certainly didn't try to tell Ginny what to do.
