CHAPTER 1

Emery Amerson hurried to her job. She was a part time receptionist. Her job was easy, serve the boss, answer phone calls and whatever else a receptionist did.

She was now twenty two years old. Studying teaching at university while working on the days she was not studying.

Emery loved her job, she really did, it was easy and her boss was like the most laid back guy ever. He was very attractive, had a great way about him, very charismatic. Took things really easy. He wasn't a in your face type of guy.

He always gave her a smile and she would secretly melt. Like she would so do him...

Jude Rogers... The CEO of the company. He brought failing businesses, broke them down and sold them. Jude just knew how to get people to listen.

She was happy to be going in to work today. She wanted to do anything and everything in her power to get Jude to notice her. She was going to make him want her and fall in love with her no matter what. She was already in love with him... If only now he would notice her... Like for real notice her.

Emery reached her desk and smiled at Loise. Loise was Jude's personal assistant. Stunning woman. Always held herself impeccably well.

"Morning." Emery greeted her as she sorted her out her things.

"Good morning. Mr Rogers is waiting for his coffee." Emery nodded her head and did just that. She made his coffee quickly before she knocked on his office door. Here goes nothing... Every day since her employment here, she would serve his coffee and hope just hope he would look at her properly.

"Yeah..." Just his voice made her want to swoon. She smiled to herself and opened the door.

"Good morning Mr Rogers... Your coffee..." Emery placed the coffee on the desk before him. He gave her a drop dead gorgeous smile.

"Good morning Emery. How are you today?"

"I'm well thank you..." Emery felt her face heat up. Did it just get hot in here!

"You okay?" He squinted his eyes at her. Oh god.

"Yeah... Yes I'm fine. Will there be anything else?" She was such a dud at times.

"Not for now. Thank you." Aww, he was like so hot... And sweet... If only!

Emery did her job like she did every day. She was to join the boss for a meeting today. Drawing in a deep breath before she served the drinks. A total of five men and one woman.

She forced a smile on her face as she saw to serving them coffees and teas. She was nervous and her hands were shaking.

Jude must have noticed that too because as he continued to lead the meeting he helped her serve the drinks. Oh god... She felt like such an idiot.

It was like nothing. Jude kept going and even winked at her when he was done. He asked her to hang around when the meeting was over and everybody had left.

Emery was fired, she felt it.

"Sit." Jude indicated for her to take a seat. His dark blue eyes seemed somewhat darker suddenly. She bit her lip and nodded her head.

"I'm sorry. I'll do better." Her stupid mouth... She just said things at times without thinking it through.

Jude didn't move to the other side of the desk. He leaned up against the desk and stood there in front of her. Oh god. She needed to lift her head up to look into his eyes.
