CHAPTER 4

It was hard for Emery to hear what Jude had to say about their relationship. She had honestly believed he wanted to be with her for real. She knew he was coming around or so she believed.

It was like a slap in the face to hear his take on things. She had to be whatever he wanted her to be or it was over... She was not ready to walk. She was in love with Jude Rogers and was nowhere near ready to move on.

Back at his place she made her way up to her room and had herself a shower to try and get herself somewhat sorted. She was not feeling her best self right now. He had really put her in a dark place by telling her what he did this afternoon.

Emery needed to calm down, work out another way to get him to fall for her like she had fallen for him. He wanted perfection, okay... She could do that. No idea how he was getting anything out of it, it was boring to be so well put together all the time, but if that's what Jude wanted, she would deliver. She was going to drive him insane with lust, with the need to have her any which way. He wanted to make this into something, okay Jude, game on... She was more than ready for the challenge.

If she had been able to get him to notice her and want to be with her, she was now going to up the ante and drive him to the brink of madness with wanting her. She was going to make it so he suffocated when she wasn't around. Bring it...

Once Emery had rested she got dressed in another one of the many outfits that was set out for her. She dolled herself up, wore heels and headed down for dinner. She had her hair up in a neat ponytail so he had nothing to say.

Jude had just walked inside. Emery forced a smile on her face and followed him to the dining room.

He sat in his chair and leaned back. "Emery, what we discussed today..." Oh god. "It's for the best, I am trying to make this work. In order for that to happen you need to remember the rules."

"The rules where I have to look perfect, abide by your every demand and nothing more?" Shut up girl!

"You were made aware of our deal from the very beginning. Do not think it's okay to change the rules now."

"Fine." She nodded her head at that. She was doing her best to keep her emotions out of it.

"Emery, I do not want this to become messy. We are together for the sole purpose of me enjoying you for now. I want you to be with me..."

"For now right?"

"Yes. Something you knew already."

"Okay. Yeah, I'm sorry. I get carried away occasionally. Will not happen again." She said keeping that fixed smile on her face.

"Is this going to be a problem Emery?" He asked her in all seriousness now.

"Not at all." She replied sweetly to him. She was upset, yes it was going to be a fucking problem!

"I need you to talk to me now. Let's sort this out now. I don't want this to be looming over our heads. If you have anything to say then say it. I want to move on from this."

"All good on this end." Again, she smiled sweetly at him. Jude squinted his eyes at her as though trying to work her out.

"Okay. Good." He nodded his head. She could tell that he wasn't too convinced by her compliance but he went with it.

It was awkward after dinner. Usually Emery would move and sit beside him scooting so close to him until she was touching him. She would touch him, stroke him... She would kiss him... She would hold his hand and just caress...

Now she did not such thing. She followed him to the living room and sat down beside him. Not too close, she made sure to keep her distance.

She sat there waiting for his order. This was what he wanted. He had his drink not saying a word. Okay then... She had no idea how this was going to play out. He seemed to be thinking hard.
