The bright morning light comes streaming into my bedroom, I stetch and sit up. I sit in bed for a minute, taking a minute to process what is happening. Today's the day. Today is the day when I'm going to LA!!!
I walk over to my curtains and open them. I can hear the faint noise of a Blackbird chirping in the back garden. I smile to myself. I'll definitely miss Chester's nature.
I make my bed and place one of my suitcases on my bed. I open my notes on my phone with my never-ending packing to-do-list on my phone. I tick off all of the items I've packed and make sure that I have everything I need and I haven't forgotten anything.
I pick up my bag and place it on my bed, I put in a book, my fully-charged laptop, my iPad, passport, plane ticket, notepad, pencil case, my Beats headphones, my airpods, and all of the other mini essentials.
I check my plane ticket. London to LA. It's really happening. My dream job in fashion, working for a fashion magazine. As a Junior Editor. It's always been a dream of mine to work in the Fashion Industry, watching designers present endless designs that they have been creating for months. Inspiring children watching the show at home. The endless piles of VOGUE and Cosmopolitan magazines stacked up in my bedroom. My whiteboard covered in celebrities and their outfits from the BRIT Awards, Grammy Awards, MTV Awards, and so much more.
Taking Fashion at university was probably the best decision of my life, working with people who had chosen Fashion for the same reason as me.
There's a knock at my door, my mum walks in, "Hey sweetie, how are you doing? You almost packed?" She says to me with a smile.
I smile back, "My suitcases are pretty much, just got a couple more bits to pop in this one."
"Great, breakfast will be ready in 10," she says, looking around my bedroom.
"Amazing, thanks mum!" I smile at her, as she closes the door. I put my charging cables, extensions and any final bits in my suitcase, I close the suitcase after putting the final bits in and smile.
I run downstairs for breakfast, my mum has made waffles with fruit and chocolate sauce.
"Thanks mum, I'll miss your cooking!" I smile, cutting a forkful of the waffle.
"I'll miss cooking for you," she respons, sounding tearful. I look up at her and put my fork down and give her a hug.
I've always been very close with my family so moving to a totally different country by myself with a big time difference will definitely be weird.
She hugs me tightly, I hear a noise and my dad and my little brother Mikey have sneaked into the room. Seeing me and my mum hugging they join us. We stand there for about 2 minutes hugging. I wipe the tears from my eyes after pulling away from them. I sit back down, Mikey sits next to me, he starts to eat his own waffle. I smile at him and give him a side hug. He smiles back at me with a mouthful of food and I laugh at him.
We sit at the dining table eating our waffles, having one final chat, laugh and discussion for what may be a while.
I finish my waffle and head back upstairs, by the time I've completely finished packing and dressed. The taxi is here.
"Olivia, your taxi's here!" My mum shouts from the bottom of the stairs.
I grab my bag and run downstairs. My mum, dad and little brother were stood in the hallway. My parents both had tears in their eyes and my brother was hugging my mum.
"I'll miss you," I say to them all as I get to the bottom of the stairs. I embrace them all individually, starting with my dad, mum and then my little brother.
