Chapter Three- Tempting

Lucy couldn't believe Lalo convinced Fring not to fire her on the spot. Are they doing business together? She did hear something about investing but why does he care about me so much? But then she thought back to the story Lyle told her about those men threatening Fring's business and taking money how he said Ignacio is one of them. What are they doing?

Buzzzzzz buzzz buzzz

It must be Lalo. But it wasn't this time.

it was actually her friend Alisha whom she hasn't heard from in a while. They have known each other since they were little in Colorado. But sadly, Lucy's mother decided to move to Albuquerque for reasons she didn't like talking about.

"Hey Alisha long time no see"

"It has been a while just checking up on you. How have you been?" She asked

"Nothing new almost got fired today." Lucy huffed

"What? Why?" Concern raised in her voice.

Lucy began telling her all the mishaps she made at work, but chose to not mention Lalo. She didn't want her to know about the older man that she is probably going to go out on a date with soon. She would probably lose her shit and ask all sorts of questions about him.

"Anyway, I'm heading over to Albuquerque for the week to see Lewis and possibly you if you are up for it?" Lewis was her boyfriend that she visits often.

"Sure, I'm up for that it's been so long." Hopefully she doesn't come across Lalo during their time together.

Speak of the devil. A whistle and the purr of an engine caught her attention looking up she sees the familiar Monte Carlo parked in front of her.

She said her goodbye to Alisha and put her phone back in her pocket. "Hey Lalo, I did say I was fine for tonight"

"Yes, but tonight is going be special I'm going drop you off home and I want you to wear something pretty." He spoke with a smile

"So, this is going be a date then?" Lucy asked.

"You are correct the best date of your life to be exact." Lalo chuckled a little.

"Really now? Where are we going?" Lucy asked curiously.

"You'll have to wait and see c'mon its going now be fun querida(darling)"

Lucy laughed a little looking around before walking towards the passenger side and getting inside the car. "Whatever you say but one date, okay? Just like you promised."

Lalo ran his hand through his hair looking at himself in the rear-view mirror before replying "Trust me Bebita (baby girl) at the end of the night you will be the only asking me on a date." He said cheekily with a wink.

Lucy must admit she liked his confidence and she would be lying if she wasn't looking forward to the date.

Lucy was undecided on what to wear it would have been helpful if Lalo told her where they were going. She rummaged through her closet finding all sorts of clothes she hasn't seen or wore in years. 'Pretty' didn't describe some of them. The only option she had was this decent black long-sleeved dress that she wore for one of Alisha's birthday parties.

Lucy grabbed it and rushed to her bathroom turning on the shower and setting down her makeup bag.

The front door creaked to reveal Lalo... of course he wasn't going stay in the car when he was desperate to know what her home looked like. Lucy's scent surrounded him that smell of vanilla with a hint of roses. He was in complete awe as her ginger cat he remembered to be named Milo rubbed his head on his leg purring softly. "Hola gatito(kitty)" he greeted petting his head softy, he continued his investigating.
