"Chara, what did you do with the chocolate bars?"
Your younger sibling giggled from across the house, and you sighed, rolling your eyes. You had grown used to their antics over the years, of course, but as amusing as it was you needed those chocolate bars for your camping trip. You smiled, before sighing heavily and dramatically.
"Oh goodness, I guess that means no s'mores for us then," you said sadly, "We'll just have to eat a bunch of vegetables for dessert tonight!"
Upon hearing your claims of the ever-illusive 'vegetables', you heard Chara's footsteps rapidly approaching the couch where you sat. You smiled and chuckled as they appeared from the hall, a large package of chocolate bars in their hands. They waved with a smile, and you smiled back.
"Glad to see you came to your senses, Chara," you said, holding your hand out.
"Well how could I not? You can't just threaten me with vegetables, Y/n!" they gasped in response, handing you the chocolate. "We all know that the best way to get nutrients is through chocolate and marshmallows - with some graham crackers too - as God intended." You laughed as you placed the chocolate bars into the bag of food, alongside the marshmallows, graham crackers, hot dogs, and other various snacks.
"As nutritious as s'mores are, we can't have 'em until we're all settled at the campsite," you said, rising from your seat at the couch and stretching your body. You reached down to ruffle their hair, and they quickly swatted your hand away. "Which means, Chara, that we'd want to leave as soon as possible to be able to not only get there before sundown but also have that sweet gooey goodness."
"Yes yes yes, I agree," Chara said while nodding frantically, the gleam of hunger in their eyes. You looked at them, waiting for more, but they simply tilted their head. "What?"
"Are you packed, Chara?" you asked. A beat of silence followed. They looked up at you, and you cocked a brow. Silently, their eyes slowly moved towards their room, then back to you. Yeah, knew it. You chuckled, nudging their back a little. "Better get on that, kiddo," you teased, and they dashed for their room.
"SHUTUPYOUCANTPROVEANYTHING!" they yelled at you before slamming their door as you laughed.
"Just remember to pack-" you began, but they quickly cut you off, calling to you through the door.
"SHUT UP I KNOW WHAT IM DOINGGGG!" Their voice was slightly muffled, coming through the door. You grinned and laughed again.
"Okay, okay, okay!" you said, raising your hands up in surrender despite your sibling not being able to see you. "I'll leave ya to it; make it quick, though!" With that, you stepped away from the door, leaving Chara to pack their shit.
Mindlessly ambling about your living space, mind blank on how to pass the time while you waited for Chara to finish, you looked around the nice little place the two of you called home. The apartment was small, not much, but you worked your ass off to cozy up the place. Posters littered the walls - along with a few random pieces of art you had bought from thrift stores here and there - and among the chaos were even a couple of family photos.
You walked closer to the one nearest you on the wall; a polaroid photo of you and Chara at the beach last summer, taped to a green piece of construction paper that matched your siblings swimsuit. They wore sunglasses much too large for their face, rocked a pouty lip expression, and held up two peace-signs. Mud was caked all over, almost covering that signature yellow stripe that adorned practically all of their damn clothes, and some mud was even on you as well. Your swimsuit was a lovely shade of f/c - Chara had helped you pick it out - and your own pouty-lipped expression matched theirs.
