They don't deserve the truth

One day before Chan's birthday, the latter decided to start bringing up to the members the subject of him being in a relationship.

Without telling Jeongin, he raised from his seat, catching everyone's attention.

-I have something to tell you, actually... he said feeling Jeongin's stare making holes in the back of his head.

-I have a partner. We have been dating for a while now.

-Finally! Changbin started applauding. Was about time, old man. Who is she?

-Is the girl you went to that hotel then? Hyunjin asked.

-It's a he.

-Welcome to the gay club then, Minho raised his glass in the air.

-When will we meet him? Felix asked excited.

-Well... There is this thing. He's younger. Not like Minho and Jisung gap. Much younger.

-Hyung, I understand it must be fun to date someone younger, but are you sure it's worth it? You may think it's love, but you can never be sure he loves you back the way you do. Maybe you're just fun for him. One relationship of many., Hyunjin stated.

That mindset hurt Jeongin to the core. He really loved Chan and feared the day the older would tell him they weren't a fit.

He reacher for Chan under the table, but stopped himself once he heard Changbin talking.

-Yeah... I mean. It's really complicated. It really depends on the situation. Like if you told me you date Jeongin, not gonna lie I would feel uncomfortable. I imagine Innie with someone his age. Or maybe younger than him. It's just that he looks so cute and tiny and you are our leader. Strong and older. It's not an image I can quite picture in my head.

Chan nodded, biting his tongue and looked at Jeongin who was almost crying.

The maknae got up and left the room without drawings too much attention to him.

After a few minutes, Chan found him once again crying his heart out.

He buried his face in the crock of Chan's neck and closed his eyes to feel the burning tears falling on his cheeks and soaking the older's shirt.

-I won't ever get sick of your smell, he added, making Chan smile.

-I won't ever get sick of your taste, the older completed, connecting their lips. Who needs an audience? You can make a whole show only for me. I am the jealous type anyway, he joked to cheer his boyfriend up.

Which he did.

Jeongin chuckled while hugging Chan.

-I will tell them, I promise. They can curse me or hate me. I will tell them, he said looking into Jeongin's eyes.

-It wasn't very nice what you said to Channie hyung, Felix pouted.

-Don't you think the same? Hyunjin asked.

-Not really...the freckled boy focused on the table instead of looking at the people he was talking to. I think he is really happy and that's all that matters. I noticed a while ago how happy he is now. I suspected he has someone on his own. It doesn't matter to me the age, gender or nationality. Anyone that can make Channie hyung smile like that is an angel.
