"I have no engagement; come."
-Edgar Allan Poe, The Cask of AmontilladoI couldn't believe my eyes when I read it. It didn't seem too out there or anything but it seems as though Sakusa was inviting me over?
But that's ridiculous. That man hates me. He's barely even met me and he's already made it clear he would rather be in a crowded room of Atsumu's than me.
I looked over at my clock. Surely I haven't been pining over this for much more than....
Shit! It's 3am?! I have class is six hours. I need to rest. But... what if he was inviting me over? Was it rude to not show up? Fuck. I hate this.
I think I'm just overthinking it. I mean, come on, a secret message in a book? He's not the type to do that. And especially one so forward.
Perhaps I just need to....
I woke up in a flash. I must have knocked out while running my brain through all the possibilities of why Sakusa had given me that quote.
Shit, my head hurts.
I looked over to the clock to see 8:34am.
It took my brain a minute to process before I leapt out of the bed. I was about to be late to my class. I rushed through my normal routine, possibly skipping over a few steps.
I grabbed onto my car door handle, pulling repeatedly until I realized I hadn't even unlocked it yet. Man, I was a mess. I drove myself to the school and bolted out as soon as I parked. I checked the time on my phone. 8:57am.
I could make it. Just around this corner, down these stairs, across this room, past this door and....
Shit. Locked out.
I sighed and leaned back against the wall of the hallway. I felt like I wanted to breakdown. But there was no real reason. All that happened was I missed my class. It wasn't even a hard class.
I had to snap myself out of it so I pulled my phone back out.
Y/N
Hey. Missed class but that means I'm free. Down to grab some breakfast?Meian
Breakfast sounds nice. I just woke up so give me a half hour.Y/N
Are we meeting there orrrrrMeian
I'll drive. Just stay at the school.Y/N
Gotcha. See you soonI smiled before putting my phone back in my pocket. I suppose I could have texted Tsumu but he's not much of an early bird. I also could have texted Sakusa but I didn't know if I could deal with an hour of his incessant complaining.
I got up, took a big stretch, and headed out to the courtyards. I had all this free time on my hands so I might as well draw. I pulled my sketchpad out and focused all my energy on this one rose. It was halfway in bloom with a beautiful yellow color.
Once I had the rose sketched out, I thought it needed something more. I flipped through another sketchbook I had on me and stopped at a drawing of Meian from the other day.
Perfect.
I used my previous drawing of him to sketch him holding the rose out towards the viewer of the artwork. I was feeling very proud of myself and even began to picture what he must be like romantically. A very tall and seemingly responsible man.
