Everything was blurry. Her head felt like it was splitting apart, and it might as well have.
Students opened the windows of their classroom with shivers running down their spines at the horrid sound of screaming. Most were perturbed as the screams seemed as if they would never cease. Under it all, they couldn't hear the watery shouting of a frightened boy,
"Sakura?!"
"SAKURA?!"
.
He walked the streets with a limp in his step; A hand on his aching shoulder. People rushed past him, not sparing him a glance. He was a criminal and not even they could figure that out. Just another face in the crowd is what he was. He held out his shaky hands and brought them to his face. They were filthy, but in the end, were they ever clean? He was grieving, but the guilt tore at him more. So many lives were claimed and not one of them was saved. Saved...such a funny concept. Heroes and Villians are just titles, and anyone could be one really. He didn't consider himself a villain, but a criminal. A loud commotion caught his attention, and a green-haired boy flew through the crowd with great determination. His steps never faltered once and he and his friends took down the oncoming threat with ease. The bright-eyed crowd cheered at their heroes with not a care in the world. He lurked nearby, his eyes never leaving the green-haired boy's face. What a look of pride! Of power! He must think he's so powerful after taking down that 'villain'. He wanted to laugh, he wanted to cry. Both felt fitting, but overall, he felt extremely bitter. What a look on the bright boy's face. Something about that delicate visage and expression of pure, unadulterated joy made his blood curdle. Was he jealous? Angry? He never seemed to know. So he followed them as the young heroes retreated. Something in his heart begged him to retreat, but he knew he was too deep now. Why stop now? After everything, why change his mind now? Nothing ever was good, to begin with, so he might as well see it through and wait for what comes in the end. Everything will be over soon.
Or maybe the guilt will kill him before he does.
