It turned out that regardless of Izuku's ability to float and pass through walls, he had a terrible sense of direction. Most of his life he had been confined to his hometown and more accurately his apartment complex, as he had nowhere to go and nobody to go with. What friends did he have to go with anywhere, anyway? Now though, he reminded himself, he could explore all he wanted. However, he still found himself in the same few places. His roof where he died, his old apartment, following Katsuki, and now, U.A. He still hadn't really let himself explore very often. And here he was again, sitting on his roof, contemplating his life or the lack thereof.

In the middle of his thoughts, a voice caught his attention. "Back here again, are you?" Izuku jerked up his head and looked around for the source of the voice. He spotted a woman in her mid thirties at most. She looked like a hero, what with her white hooded cape, black bodysuit, and yellow gloves. Her hair was black and roughly shoulder-length, pulled up in a half-up half-down bun, a hairstyle that vaguely reminded him of his mother. "It's sad, you know. Brings back memories." She sat down next to Izuku on the wall, her legs dangling over the ledge like Izuku's were. "What's up, kid?"

Izuku blinked in shock. "You can see me?"

"Sure can. It'd be real sad if the dead couldn't see each other, you know."

Izuku took a moment to process this. "Hold on, you're dead? But you don't seem like other ghosts I've seen. You seem so..." He trailed off.

"Alive?" The woman half smiled. The warmth of her smile was familiar. "I know. My vestige is kept alive thanks to my student's power." her face fell. "Or, at least it was my power when I was alive."

"What do you mean?"

"My power, or at least it was mine at the time, is called One For All. It can be passed to other people. It was given to me by my predecessor. It was given to him by his, and so on. It combines the built up strength of everyone who used it before and strengthens the quirk of anyone who has it.Before it was given to me, I had another quirk., one that One For All strengthened once it was given to me."

"So somebody out there has that kind of power?"

The woman nodded, a proud smile on her face. "Toshinori! My student! He's gone so far, he even works at U.A now! I was just now heading to go visit him when I saw you, kid!" She paused for a moment. "What's your name, anyway? I never caught it."

"Izuku Midoriya," he said a little shakily.

"Well, nice to meet you, Midoriya. I'm Nana Shimura." She held out a hand that Izuku gently shook. "Do you want to come with me? My student has a lesson with his class today, if you'd like to see him again."

"Again?"

Nana pursed her lips. "Oh, right." She paused and then spoke. "I was there when you died. When you talked to Allmight. Or, as I've been referring to him, Toshinori."

Izuku's eyes widened. "You were his teacher?!"

"I was."

"Wow, that's amazing!"

"Do you want to see him teaching his class?"

"Yes! Absolutely!" Izuku backed up back onto the roof and Nana did so too. "So um, how do we get there?"

"We float," Nana smiled, scooping Izuku into her arms bridal-style and hopping off the roof. Izuku squeaked in fear before he realized that all was well. Nana was quite literally walking on air. She would run at the high speeds of a ghost, hop off a roof, and slowly float over to the next roof, the momentum pushing them forward.

"What's happening?" Izuku asked in confusion.

"It's the work of my original quirk before One For All added to it, Float. Quite useful for getting out of danger and for travel, no?"
