(2) Unwanted Memories

This chapter starts with right after Percy walks away from Annabeth

Annabeth's POV:

Wait. What. Percy Jackson someone I have only ever been told good things about just walked away from me while I was talking to him! Like what kind of jerk just walks away from someone speaking to them. Whatever, a little while ago I saw that Luke was here my ex-boyfriend, no let me restate that Luke my abusive, alcoholic, smoking ex-boyfriend was on bored this boat.

See at first when me and Luke met I was in my first year in high school while he was about finished his last, he was very kind to me complemented me and I eventually fell for him. I remember when he asked me out before his graduation I was ecstatic.

Once I finished high school he told me I should move in while i'm in university with him. I said yes and thats when the problems began with him she would remember him coming home late at night his hair all messy and his shirt undone. His breath would reek of alcohol and he was clearly cheating and when ever she would confront him he would get angry, he would hit her. I go to sit on a chair near the pool as the memories start folding in my brain.

Luke came late at night it was around 2:00 a.m and Annabeth was waiting for him on the couch. She could already smell him and he reeked of alcohol and you could see the smudged lipstick on his face. "Where have you been Luke?", he ignored her pulling out a cigaret and lighting it, Annabeth coughed as she inhaled the fumes. "Luke, where have you been. I know you're cheating it's very much clear to me.", Luke turned to glare and her almost tripping in the process.

"What did you just say Annabeth" he says spitting out her name as though it was poison, "I said I know you're cheating, Luke", at that he slaps her hard in the face, "You stupid bitch you don't know a damn thing about what I do! I tell you what to do and you listen it doesn't matter where I go or what time I come back! This is my roof you're living under and don't you forget that!", at that point I am very angry at him.

"Well than maybe i'll just leave than Luke! I don't want to be near you and your toxic fumes! Why would I want to be anywhere near a cheater and lier! Plus your house is a goddamn mess if I didn't clean twenty times a day you would know where the floor ended and the beer bottles started!", Luke gives me a very angry look. "You're not going anywhere Annabeth you are staying here with me forever! If you do leave i'll make sure to end you and Ethan will help", with that he grabs a glass bottle and smashes my head on it. I felt it and it was warm and wet, my hand was cover in my red blood. With that Luke comes up towards me and presses the broken glass bottle hard into me and I could feel the blood flowing around the glass.

He grabs my face with his free hand and presses his lips onto mine hard we stay like that with Luke kissing me passionately while I try no to scream because of the pain. He lets go of me and the bottle letting it stay lodged into my side and throws me some rags, tweezers, and alcohol. "You're lucky i'm forgiving you Annabeth because I love you. Next time don't run your mouth and make me angry." With that he goes to our room leaving me to stop myself from bleeding out.

*****flashback over ******

I get up from the chair i'm sitting in afraid another flashback will happen if I stay still. Eventually I was able to escape from Luke but when I told the police he was gone and so was his buddy Ethan. Now we are staying on the same boat in the middle of the water and he is most likely still angry. I was hoping that this summer I would be able to move on from Luke but of course the gods are against me.

After I explored the boat I realized that 2 hours had passed I was about to go to my room when I bump into Luke, at first he starts to glare but once he realized it was me he gave me a grin. "Annabeth looks like you're just as clumsy as before", I glare hard at him, "Go away Luke", he approaches me and gets really close, to close for comfort. "I want you back Annabeth, i've been thinking about you after all this time.", I push him away from me as hard as I could he was about to fall but Ethan caught him.

They were about to come towards me when Percy cuts between us, "I believe she told you to leave her alone Luke" he glares at Luke and his calm silly sea green eyes turn dark as though there was a hurricane in them. Luke grins at him, "Prissy Jackson is it? You've changed, gotten some muscles have you? That doesn't make a difference Percy I'll still beat you up and it's 2 against one", Percy smiles at Luke coldly, "I could beat both of you up but who says it's just me?" Just then Jason, Leo, and Frank show up.

Luke smiles and walks away Ethan following right behind. All of Percy's friends leave, and Percy's the only one that stays. "How do you know Luke?" I ask him, Percy looks at me a sighs than says, "Old high school bully, bullied me and my friend Grover everyday for the year he was there. What about you how come he was bothering you?", he says getting real close to me. "He's sort of my ex-boyfriend", I say quickly, Percy's grin drops and he backs away from me "How could you like someone so rude and violent?", I scowl at him "You're one to talk about rudeness".

He fakes hurt, "I'm not rude Wise Girl, you are", I almost laugh at the compliment he tried to make an insult, "Wise Girl? Whatever Seaweed Brain, and you are such a jerk remember when you just walked away from me when I tried to talk to you earlier?", Percy answers back, "Oh, that", thats all he got to say as he did the same thing again leaving me there.

I stand there feeling quite woozy, and I fainted.

Once I wake up I see Percy in front of me and i'm laying in a bed, "Is this your room Percy?" he gets up from the chair he was in and rushes to my side with a glass of water in his hand. "Yup you fainted and I caught you so I brought you over here for you to rest. It seemed that your body was just overworked and stressed so it shut down these things happen to many people it's perfectly normal.", I smile, "Your like a doctor", I laugh. "More like a detective" he says, "Are you studying to become one?", I ask him, "No." he says. I ask him, "How come you seem to know quite a bit", he smiles at me and I look into his sea green eyes. "I don't have the money or time for it", I look at him knowing he was holding back information but I decided not to ask.

Percy hands me the glass of water telling me to drink so I do so and then I lay back down. "Annabeth i'm sorry for running off each time you try to talk to me. I just have a lot on my mind right now, things no one knows about. So how about we try again? Friends?", I look up at Percy and smile, "Friends", I say. Just then Rachel bursts into Percy's room. "Babe!", at first I was wondering who she was talking but the I realized. "Yeah" Percy answers, "I need you closet there's not enough space for all of my closes in mine!", Percy laughs "Ok put what you need in there", she smiles and kisses him. He starts to put her clothes away. She walks over to me and whispers in my ear, "Don't you think of going near him! Or I swear I will put a knife in your throat." With she walks out.

"So um she's your girlfriend?", Percy looks over to me and says "I mean yeah for now I plan to break up with her because this past year she's been different.", i'm not sure if is a good thing I felt relieved at his words. "Rest up Annabeth I have a feeling tomorrows going to be a long day", I look at him, "Do you want me to go?", He looks at me and smiles, "No you can stay i'll sleep on the couch."

As I start to dose of I wondered what Percy was hiding and if had anything to do with why he can't go to school. All I could think about was that Percy was definitely an interesting person and I wonder what I will learn about him.

I think I like the way the story is going I know I told you it would be longer and it is by a few hundred words but in my defence I updated twice today and will continue working on it till I go to bed and it's only 9:11 p.m for me.
