Another cup of coffee you sipped down. What a nice sight sight to see for anyone as it was the 5th one. Deprived from the feeling of sleep, it would be likely to add another coffee, and it would be another day that followed the list of sleepless days. You placed the cup down carefully. It left a small light noise when it met the saucer on the wooden table in the lonely office.
Your desk was a dread to look at, nothing but dusk, simplicity, and lots of papers that turned to stacks comparable to skyscrapers. It was lonely and empty at the same time, each day the same routine, signing the same papers and rarely variation.
On the other hand, it was better than fearing something unexpected to happen each day.
You felt your attention decreased slowly—your concentration had started to suffer after 3 hours' worth of work. Nothing worthy of wondering about. After all, it was a great pile you had gotten through. Still, something kept you nervous. This feeling only tightened as your eyes fell on your phone. Catching your interest faster than the coffee that had filled your body minutes before.
Grabbing the device to make a short break and allow yourself to text your best friend back. You deserved that, right? And texting Albedo was a nice change of pace.
