Chapter 3

"Mom?" Dante asked as he sat at the small table with his mom, they were eating the ramen she prepared earlier.

"Yes sweetie?" she asked as she ate a large amalgam of noodles.

"Why does everyone hate Naruto?" she gagged a little on her noodles as she heard this but downed them with some water.

"Well honey...I don't know. I can see that boy is treated differently here in the village, anyone can see that, but me and your father were never told why, and I've just never thought to ask anyone."

"Maybe he's not from here? Like us?"

"Well maybe sweetheart, the best we can do is show him kindness, I know he has no family."

"Maybe he can live here with us?" Dante asked as he smiled at this idea. Tsuki just sighed.

"I wish we could take him in, but we're barely making it as it is, another mouth to feed would be just...too much."

"Oh..." Dante said sadly as he looked down at his Noodles.

"But don't worry sweetheart, the village takes care of him, they feed him and put him up in his own place, and he has somewhat of a parent in your teacher, I think his name was-"

"Iruka sensei, but it's not the same mom. They feed him and take care of him, but the only people who are nice to him are us, and Iruka sensei sometimes, but none of the other kids even speak to him most of the time, and when they do they just say mean things." Tsuki frowned and looked down at her soup.

"Mom?"

"Yes honey?"

"Tomorrow, when we do exams and I become a genin and start to make money going on missions, I'm gonna give it all to you, maybe you and dad won't struggle so much, maybe then we can have Naruto over all the time and we can eat ramen every night!" He smiled and held his fork in the air and Tsuki laughed at such a silly sight.

"You don't need to do that Dante, we can afford to take care of ourselves, and me and your dad are happy as long as you are." She smiled as she reached across the table and held Dante's hand in hers, "but sweetheart,"

"Yeah mom?" Dante said as he looked at his mom's smiling face.

"I'm proud to be your mom, I love you so much and I'm so glad you have such a pure heart."

"Geez mom, you're embarrassing me." Dante said as he took his hand away, his face turning red.

"I'm your mom, it's my job to embarrass you, now eat up, it's a school night and you have a big test tomorrow." Together they ate and when they were all finished up, they took their bowls to the sink and they started to make their way to bed, but before Tsuki could go into her room Dante spoke up.

"Mom?" he asked as she turned around and looked at Dante. "I love you too, goodnight." She smiled as she heard this.

"Goodnight sweetheart." She said as she went into her room, Dante made his way into his room and shut the door. He flicked on the light and saw Naruto standing in his room with a huge scroll on his back.

"Naruto?! What are you doing here?!"

"Shhh!" Naruto said as he put a finger over his mouth, "Common, I want you to come with me."

"What? Where? and what's that scroll?"

"Um...forbidden jutsu..." Naruto said as he smiled and rubbed the back of his head.

"Forbidden jutsu?!" Dante yelled as quietly as he could. "Naruto, where did you get this?"

"It doesn't matter, just come with me."
