After what seemed like an eternity, Ajax eventually wiped the last set of his tears and stopped crying. Walking over to the mirror in the room to look at himself. Staring himself down, he couldn't help but feel anything but guilt, even if it wasn't his fault.

He felt so stupid for voicing his emotions like that. He caused so many unneeded problems and stress in 5 minutes. He was questioning his actions all over again, still not managing to shake that perturbed feeling. And although he hadn't thought anything through, he still had to come up with a plan to apologise, even if it wasn't his place to.

After he washed his face, he slowly reached for his backpack in the corner of the bedroom. Fighting back more tears as he walked towards the door. Just about ready to confront Scaramouche once more. As he was leaving, he spotted a certain Cavalry Captain, dripping with sweat as he walked out of the apartment of an unknown tenant.

"Oh-! Uh..."

Voiced the ginger, awkwardly walking away. The blue-haired man just stared him up and down as he walked, slightly confused but he brushed it off anyway.

"I didn't know there was a harbinger living in this residence?"

Kaeya thought to himself. Eventually following after Childe in a strange curiosity.

"Now, just who was that? He doesn't seem to be a citizen of Liyue? It doesn't matter anyway, I have to find Scara."

He thought out loud to himself. He shuddered to think what Scaramouche would think if he let something as small as this bother him so much. After quite some time, he realised that it was pointless to search for him on foot as he could be anywhere.

"I should've called him instead of aimlessly walking around the Harbor like an idiot."

He sat down on a random bench, rummaging through his backpack for his phone. Eventually, he had searched through his entire bag around five times now and still couldn't seem to find it. He thought back to if he had left it behind in a reckless mindset, and of course, he did.

"Well fuck. What am I gonna do now? Should I just go home?.. I already wasted my entire day out here anyway."

He said with a sigh, shakily looking up as he felt someone with a suspiciously ominous presence towering over him. He hesitantly looked up to find a tall man with long blue hair, an eye patch, a lilac eye, broad shoulders, and strange attire.

"Hey, freckles, what's wrong?"

"Freckles?."

Childe sighed, standing up to face the bluenette properly. Not expecting their faces to come so close when he did so, he jumped back a little, his cheeks flushing a slight pink colour.

"What? 'fraid I might kiss you?"

Childe paused for a moment, the blush on his pale, freckled cheeks becoming a lot more visible.

"W-What? No... How can you say that with a straight face to a stranger-?"

The ginger stuttered, receiving a wry laugh from the knight.

"What's so funny?."

"Nothing, nothing. Besides the fact that you'd just given me the reaction I had hoped for."

The bluenette snickered, laughing hysterically when the copper-haired man's face became redder with embarrassment.

"You- You!."

"I, what? Come on, freckles, spit it out."

"Nuh-uh!"

Childe shook his head, making Kaeya tear up with laughter

"Stop laughing, it's not funny!."

"It's impossible not to, you're acting like a child!"

"Who are you to say that when you don't even know my name?!"

Kaeya sighed, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye

"Alright, alright, calm down starlight."

"First it was 'freckles' and now it's 'starlight'?."

"Yep! You're going to have to deal with it now."

"Eh- Okay, if you say so then."

"Well, I best be on my way now."

Kaeya handed Childe a slip of paper, waving as he turned around and walked away

"Call me~!"

The copper-haired man sighed, shoving the slip of paper into the left pocket of his pants and he walked back to his apartment, he could feel his face heating up just thinking about the blue-haired knight whose name he knew not.

He gently slapped both of his cheeks in a 'what am I thinking?' kind of way.

Letting himself into his apartment, he walked toward his room and grabbed his phone from the nightstand. Throwing himself onto his bed, he buried his face into a pillow. Eventually turning his head to the side and turning on his phone. Scrolling through his contacts, he debated if he really should call the blue-haired man he had met earlier today.

He shook his head, cursing himself under his breath, "No! What am I thinking! I should be apologising to Scara, not running off to talk to someone else."

He sat up, holding his phone up to his left ear, hoping that Scara would pick up.

As soon as he heard Scara's voice on the other end, an impetuous smile graced his lips and his eyes lit up. But, to his dismay, it had gone to voicemail.

"I'm busy, fuck off. And if this is Childe, just forget about it. I know you're going to apologise or some shit, I forgive you, don't bother calling me again."

His smile faded, caught a bit off guard by the fact that Scaramouche knew what he was going to do. Instead of recording a reply, he just pressed the hang-up button, still considering the idea of calling the bluenette. He sighed, feeling a bit bored and lonely, he considered the idea once more. Eventually pulling the slip of paper out of his left pocket, dialled the number and pressed the call button.

Not actually expecting the man to pick up, Childe slightly flinched when he heard the smooth, even voice of the Cavalry Captain.

"Ah-! Oh, Uhm..."

"Let me guess, your little boyfriend didn't pick up so you decided to call me out of boredom, didn't you?"

"Haha... How'd you know..."

"Oh, I don't know. Maybe the fact that you were thinking out loud to yourself in the middle of the Harbor and I just so happened to overhear you?"

"Y-You did?! Shit..."

"Of course I did, Starlight."

"Stop calling me that-"

"No can do, not unless you tell me your name."

"Oh, right-! I can't believe I forgot, how embarrassing..."

He said, hearing a soft, charming laugh come from the knight. He felt his face heating up in a sort of embarrassment.

"Don't laugh, it's not funny!. But- But anyways-! You can call me, Aj- Ah... Childe!"

"Pfft- Okay then Aj-ah-Childe."

Kaeya said mockingly, receiving an annoyed groan from Childe.

"Stop-! It's just Childe!."

"Alright, alright."

The bluenette laughed again

"Well, Childe. I'm Kaeya, pleased to meet you."

"Kaeya, huh? Such a pretty name for such a pretty man."

"Oh? 'Such a pretty man' you say?"

"I- I mean what!. Haha... You didn't hear that..."

"Mhm, sure I didn't."

Childe could feel his face burning up, he couldn't believe what he'd just said. In embarrassment, he immediately hung up on Kaeya, his heart pounding in his chest.

"Am I an idiot-? Why did I do that?. No, no. It was just a compliment, I shouldn't be getting mad at myself over that. Right?."

He flinched as he felt his phone buzz in his hand. He looked at the screen to see a message from Kaeya, reading, "Coming to your place at 10 pm tomorrow, see you then Starlight! ❤"

"Still with the 'Starlight' thing?. And to top it off, he didn't even ask for my permission to come over..."

--CHAPTER END--

OKAY, SO. I'M SO SORRY FOR POSTPONING THE CHAPTER, I'M NOT TOO INTO CHISCARA ANYMORE SO I WAS PUTTING IT OFF-

I wanted to make Childe happy in this chapter so I pulled some Chaeya out my ass because it's my comfort ship- This will continue up until the next (Maybe 2) chapter(s).

BUT! But. I swear I won't make Childe and Kaeya date, and I WILL find a good plot for this (Or I hope so) 😣
