Y/N BLINKED MULTIPLE TIMES, trying to form an answer. her summer had been so... well every single synonym of bad.
"um, don't— don't answer that.." naruto said noticing her uncomfortable state.
y/n simply nodded and gave a strained smile and proceed to ask about how his day has been.
"it's been.. great? i guess." he answered, "how's yours?"
"it's interesting, kinda tiring as always tho." naruto nodded agreeing with her last statement.
"yeah, uh, how have you been?" naruto asked, and with that they began a simple conversation.
the atmosphere around them was strange, it was awkward but yet, they felt like nothing had ever happened. as if they hadn't stopped talking for a whole summer.
and for next couple of days, the simple and small conversations soon turned into longer ones like before.
y/n didn't tell gaara that she was talking to naruto again, she figured that if he did find out then she would simply say it was for a project or a homework, nothing else.
