The high pitched laughter from outside woke Victoria up before her alarm. Rolling over to her side she saw a few messages she received the night before from her mother.

"Goodmorning my angel, mama loves you"
"Make sure you take a few photos for me"

Quickly typing back saying she will and that she loves her more before going over to wash her face. The pajama shirt that hugged her chest quickly came off as she put her brown knit sweater on. Letting her chocolate brown hair fall from the ponytail she slept in.

It was only 8 am but without hesitation she put on her black skirt and boots and headed downstairs in hopes to find breakfast since last night she hadn't eaten.

the hallways were filled with artwork, some had teachers portraits, probably the ones who aren't with us anymore. But slowly her feet stopped at a painting of a young man. His eyes a fierce blue, a blue that she has been met with before but unsure of when this might've been. Those eyes were calling her but she couldn't quite put her finger on it. It captivated her putting her into a trance until.

"Goodmorning"

The voice alone making her jump back a step, putting her hand onto her chest in hopes to calm her frightened breathing.

"You, oh my god, could've given me a heart attack just then" Victoria looked at Ms Lanewood who covered her mouth to hide her laughter.

"I can tell you right now that, that young man has had the same effect on a lot of us ladies" Ms Lanewood smirked looking at the young man who had been painted so flawlessly.

"Who is he?" Victoria asked, looking back up at those eyes, the same eyes she has met before somewhere, somehow.

"He is I believe the previous Principles son, however since his passing he hasn't been here in a long time. I do however hear he is to return as a teacher" Her reply was calm, but mentioning the passing had her tone a lot softer.

"Do you know when he is to return?" The questions leaving Victoria before she even thought them through.

"Soon I suppose, I would like to think so" Ms Lanewood took Victoria by the arm and continued her walk. "But since you are awake let's go get some breakfast together what do you say?" Looking up at Victoria with a smile

"I would love that"

. . . .

Taking a seat at a empty table they placed there food and hurried to start eating, the steam of the beans and sausages floating into there noses.

"When was it that you're turning 18?" Ms Lanewood asked, taking a spoonful of all continents on her plate.

"In under 4 months, it's a bit awkward starting now in senior year but that's what my father wanted so not much that I can do" Looking at her food before taking a bite of the sausage.

"I'll make sure your father sees you"

"I'm sure he can manage to remember my birthday, if not i'll appreciate if you can have me spend the day with the parent who cherishes my company" Victoria argued, missing her mother was the hardest feeling on her, felt like a weight that couldn't be lifted without the presence of a loved one.
