I woke up with the sun, I had gone to sleep early and was awoken with the sun on my face. I had forgotten to pull the blinds down, but it was rather enjoyable to wake up seeing the early sun glittering on the ocean. I took a quick shower and got dressed for the day. I made sure nothing had happened to my wallet or letters, thankfully nothing, and went for a walk.

I made my way outside and leaned against the railing. The ocean was fairly flat, but there were some waves fairly far out. Nothing too dangerous. I looked down at the water whooshing past the boat, it was very calming. I was so focused on the water that I didn't even notice a crew-member come and lean against the railing with me.

"It's pretty this time of morning..."

I jumped, but when I saw it was a crew-member I smiled and looked back down at the water.

"Yeah... water is very beautiful..."

"You've seemed to have gotten along well with the cruise so far, no seasickness from you yet."

"Yeah, I'm not sure if I'll get seasick, I hope not."

"Ah, we like to travel do we?"

"Yeah, I guess..."

"If you don't mind my asking, why are you here alone?"

"Well..."

We fell into a silence. I didn't know how to answer that. 'I'm here because I have a magic ability to control water, when I found out I ran away from the orphanage and have been living off the map. By the way did I mention I may or may not have caused accidents resulting in deaths?'

"I'm just trying to find somewhere nice to live I guess. I've been to a lot of places, I'm thinking of finding a nice house when this cruise is finished."

"That sounds pretty cool, so you've travelled around the country basically?"

"I guess..."

"So... do you have a family to go to?"

I hung my head and sighed.

"No, I don't have a family. I'm an orphan."

"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring up a hard past..."

"No, it's not your fault I had a hard past. You can remind me of it but it won't change the fact that it happened."

I looked out onto the ocean again, the sun was getting higher. It was almost time for breakfast.

"You don't have a sweetheart, or maybe friends to go back to?"

I stayed silent. The only person I had ever thought of as a friends was Lilly, but who knew where she was now, or if she even remembered me.
