Chapter 9: Moving Forward

After the whole incident with the train and Rengoku dying the four Demon Slayers were feeling down because of what happened while recovering at the butterfly estate, (Y/n) right now was sitting outside looking at the night sky

(Y/n)"even after being able to access a whole new breathing technique I still was too late..."

He laid on his back looking up at the stars and moon in the sky before hearing the door slide open and someone walking

Rachnera"still feeling down?"

(Y/n)"yeah..."

The both of them stayed silent for a few minutes before Rachnera scooted over to (Y/n) who laid his head on her lap while she started playing with his hair

(Y/n)"sorry that I worried you... I didn't know what to do at that moment..."

Rachnera"just please... don't make me worry about you dying ever again"

(Y/n)"my bad, I just didn't want to see such a great warrior like Rengoku-san die while I just stand there looking like a fool"

Rachnera felt (Y/n) tense up a bit before she grabbed him and placed his head onto her chest as she hugged him catching him off guard a bit before accepting her embrace and wrapped his arms around her

Rachnera"you're no fool no matter what. There are times when we just don't know what to do, it happens to the best of us. You started being a Demon Slayer for a year so of course you're gonna be having difficulties at first. But I know for sure that you will grow to be a fine man that can protect everyone even when you are backed up against the wall"

(Y/n) felt comfort in Rachnera's words and had a small smile on his face as he sinked more into her embrace

(Y/n)"thanks Rachnera, with your support you'd make a great wife"

Rachnera's face turned completely red from what he said trying to find the right words to say but kept stuttering

Rachnera"s-stop teasing me!"

The two of them stayed outside enjoying each other's embrace for another hour before they both headed inside to get some rest

4 Months Later

Four months have passed since Rengoku's death and the four boyos have gotten better and stronger training more and going on solo missions. (Y/n) was able to train more on both of his breathing techniques. Meanwhile Rachnera was also able to get stronger with her blood demon art and has surpassed Upper Moon one's strength

At the moment a demon is seen running through a village desperately trying to get away

Multiple red strings were sent out around the demon where it was running and came in contact with its legs making them get sliced off

Demon"AGH!!!"

The demon fell down as its legs were cut clean off by the red strings
