"you ready??" i asked aspen who nodded her head.

"surprised you not nervous." i said and she shrugged.

"it's either they do or don't like me.." she mumbled twisting her hair.

"mama..." she looked up at me.

"i'm fine foreal tahani." she said and i nodded my head before kissing her lips before i could knock on the door it opened.

"y'all cute..." i looked and saw my older brother kaylo.

"anyways- kaylo this my girl aspen, aspen this kaylo my annoying ass older brother." i said and he smiled at me.

"okay kaylo move out the way..." i heard my mom say and push him aside.

"hello, you must be aspen both of you come in...got them sitting out there in that hot ass heat." she said to kaylo making aspen laugh some as i guided her to the living room.

"i met her through my cousin, she was friends with him and soon i started hanging with them..." she said then kaylo quickly turned towards me.

"so she the antisocial fine ass girl you wanted-"

kaylo said then went in the kitchen.

"mane ma... alidanganya hata sikufanya chochote!" he said and i rolled my eyes.

"what he say?" aspen asked with her face scrunched up.

"he said she lying i wasn't even doing anything." i said making her nod her head.

"so y'all talk swahili?"

"well...my parents are from uganda, but moved here once my mom got pregnant with my brother...but when we were younger they kept talking in swahili and english so we both kinda just picked it up." i said as she stared at me intensely.
