Chapter 6

Mayumi's P.O.V
I had to say I loved my father as we brought the class to our home and I let my familiars off so that they could stretch and play around. I giggled when I felt a nose snuffling my hair and I turned to look at my horse as I started petting him; his black fur glimmered healthy in the sun and the grey of his mane and tail along with a blaze up his nose gave him character.

"Who's your friend Mayumi?" Rin's voice came as he walked over looking amazed and chuckled when Shadow nuzzled him looking for treats.

"This is Shadow he's been with me ever since I was little; he's another familiar of mine but that's why myself and my family live out here so myself and my father can have our horses out and about." I spoke smiling softly and had an idea of how to maybe get the class to relax around demons a little more. "Come on he's safe I promise. Shadow is my mildest familiar I have; all he's looking for is treats or petting."

Shiemi came closer amazed as did Bon they both let Shadow memorize their scents before they were allowed to pet him and Shiemi giggled when Shadow sniffed her hair causing her to laugh happily. "He's so gentle."

"As he should be Shiemi; all my familiars can be protective and rude but...they can also be helpful and kind when required as you saw with Cole and Anarchy. Cole joined me six months ago when I found him wounded and tended to him he wanted to be my familiar, and Anarchy I grew up with so I know how to deal with him." I spoke and noticed that a few members were still tense and scared and smiled softly. "I know you three were also scared cause of the blue flames that night so many years ago, your scared cause a few of us now are demons and two half demons but we're trying to help out and you all need to put in a little work to try and get past that fear to see that we only want to help."

"You can say that so easily cause you are a half demon; we can't..." Izumo gasped when Anarchy came and stood protectively in front of me glaring at her.

"Mayumi only wants to help; we all know your scared and we expected that; but understand this none of us had a hand in helping Satan that night. None of us want to see him destroy this earth; not where Mayumi was born and raised. We knew it was time for us to step in and help to train Rin when word came of what happened at his home in the city." Anarchy spoke and I moved rubbing his back and felt him relax and calm as he looked to me and saw that he was grateful by the look on his face and his gold eyes were more warm.

I smiled softly to my familiar that was raised with me all my life and was like a brother to me. "Like I said I'm the horseman of Life and just like Death I know who is born, lives and dies that's all in my powers along with Death's. Do you think we like what we can do? Do you think many of the lords like what they can do? No many of us hate what we can do but if any of us are lost and no one is there to take our place I can't guarantee that things will remain the same. That things won't get out of control and cause some sort of problem in the future."

"You mean like how they each control something...like Amaimon can control earth?" Shiemi spoke curiously causing me to smile.

"Yep; all lords keep control over their demon kin like fire demons listen to the lord of fire, earth listens to Earth King etc." Anarchy spoke and I moved smirking as his father put him in a head lock and I cuddled into my father trying not to let it on I was laughing.

"M-Mayumi I know your laughing?!" Anarchy spoke with a blush and slight irritation but it caused many of us to laugh at him before I went to his rescue.

Anarchy chuckled as Apollo caught me and we teamed up bringing him down. "Ah you two little devils."

Mephisto chuckled watching with Amaimon. "The only master and familiar that had a bond before they ever became a team."
