Dahlia Ahmad looked around as she searched for her A2 Physics class, confusion glazing her dark brown eyes.

She vaguely recalled the nice lady at the help desk telling her to go to the second floor and take a right. She did exactly that. What she found there was a wall.

Dahlia looked around with confusion. Following those instructions had landed her on a dead end. She tried to rack her brain.

Did the lady say second or third?

Dahlia genuinely couldn't remember. She let out a panicked breath. It was her first day at a new school and she was already late for her first class.

"Why is my memory so darn bad?" she whispered under her breath as irritation bubbled in her chest.

Dahlia spun on her heels and decided to check out the third floor, knowing there was no point in glaring at an empty wall and hoping for it to magically open a pathway.

She quickly sprinted across the empty hallway. She cringed as her shoes loudly echoed across the pin drop silence, knowing she was interfering with the classes going on nearby.

She saw a figure appear through the doorway. Relief erupted in her chest. "Excuse me!" she called out. "Do you know where section 2, A2 Physics is?" she spit out before even giving him a chance to turn around.

Dahlia halted in her steps as the boy faced her. His light brown eyes narrowed in confusion. Her heart leaped in her chest.

The boy had an angular jawline and straight nose, his light tan skin sporting a five o'clock shadow. His messy, light brown hair lay across his forehead, almost getting into those eyes that were intently looking at her how.

"Excuse me?" he asked.

"A2 Physics, section 2." Dahlia replied briskly, quickly looking away.

Aryan Malik ran his gaze over her features, a devilish grin appearing on his face. "Are you the new kid?"

"Yes," Dahlia replied impatiently, knowing she was now running dangerously late.

"Right," he drawled. "What's your name?"

Dahlia let out an exasperated sigh. Why was the kid talking so much? "Can you please just give me the direction?"

Something sparked in Aryan's eyes. "of course," he said, straightening his face just as fast. He slightly shifted his body and pointed his finger. "Go straight down the hall," he told her. "it's the last door to the left."
