"It's a fetus, it's not alive."

This argument, however, is false.

Let's check out the definition of "alive".

According to thefreedictionary.com, life: 1. living; existing; not dead or lifeless.

You can either be alive or dead.

Bacteria are alive, plants are alive, animals are alive. They grow, their cells duplicate, they have cellular activity. That's the main thing all organisms have in common- growing cellular activity.

When you die, your cells take a few hours to a few days to die, but they do not duplicate, their activity dies, they do not grow. Dead things don't grow and neither do their cells.

However, as you can guess, a fetus is alive. Its cells are duplicating and growing and it has cellular activity, just like all other living things.

The science is clear: the cellular activity of an organism begins at fertilization.

After fertilization, you are living. A embyro/fetus is living.
