"Lucas get up! Time for school!"I groaned and put the pillow over my face. I was dreading school. New school, new people, not my thing.
But I obeyed and threw off my covers. I put on a blue t-shirt and a pair of jeans then headed down to breakfast.
___My mom had to leave for her new job early, so I had to take the subway to school. It was all new to me, considering I'm from a small town in Texas. So I took a seat in the corner and looked down the whole time.
A group of girls entered the subway and started a conversation.
"Rileyyyy! Why do we have to take the dirty subway?" One whined.
"Because Maya," One (probably Riley) started, "This is my punishment from my dad."
"What did you do this time?"
"Um, er-" Riley stuttered "I stayed until one in the morning at Brandon's, and he got mad."
"Did you guys do it?"
"No! We just made out a little, you know, the usual."
"Nice!" Maya (I think) said.
"I have a date with Jason though today."
"Wait, your going on a date? You never go on dates!"
"Of course not Missy! As in date I mean going back to his house and, you know."
They all laughed obnoxious laughs. I still don't know what they looked like because I didn't look up, but Riley seems like a big slut.
I just hope they don't go to the same school as me.
___I got to my stop and to my relief, the girls were gone. I got off and anxiously walked to school.
I got into the building 20 minutes before first bell and got my schedule and locker combination.
"Freshman?" The secretary asked.
I nodded and she handed me the schedule.
"Welcome to John Quincy Adams High." She said unenthusiastically.
"Thanks." I said and walked out into the crowds of people.
Everyone at this school is nowhere near aware of their surroundings. People keep bumping into me and giving me weird looks. Okay, I know I'm new, but you don't have to look at me like I'm an alien or something.
The hallways were clearing a little more and as I got closer to my locker, I could see a little brunette going through the locker right beside mine. She had on vans, black leggings, and a cardigan (I'm pretty sure that's what it's called). She spun around and smiled, and I smiled back. She was hot- no Lucas, she's not hot. You don't call a girl hot, you call her beautiful. If you call her hot, you're just looking at her body, but if you call her beautiful, you're looking at her as a whole - at least that's what my mom says.
"Are you new here?" She asked, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Oh, um yeah."
"Cool. Where are you from?"
"Texas. My mom and I moved here for her new job."
"It's always nice having new kids around here. Especially if they're as cute as you." Then she mumbled something that sounded like "You're next on my list."
"What?"
"Nothing! I just said you were cute!"
"Oh um, thanks!" I said blushing.
