After study hall, I had lunch. I walked back to my locker to put my stuff away and I saw Riley pinned to a locker, making out with Brandon. I don't want to admit it, but my heart sank. I was, as some people call it, jealous. But I have to stop thinking about her.

I didn't have any other choice but to go towards them, considering my locker was right there. As I got closer, I could see Brandon's hands up her shirt and they were mumbling something under their breath. I had to look away in disgust.

They didn't notice me until I opened my locker. Brandon glared at me and Riley rose her eyebrow.

"Did I interrupt something?" I asked, sarcastically.

"Not cool dude." Brandon said. "Well I gotta go, see you after school, Riley." Riley grinned and he walked away.

"Goody two shoes just had to ruin the moment." Riley said, putting stuff in her locker.

"I didn't do anything, you guys are the one who's sucking off each other's faces."

She rolled her eyes at me and I kept going. "And I'm not a goody two shoes."

"Mhmm, so you're a bad boy."

"Well, I wouldn't say-"

"So you wouldn't mind if we skipped class right now and went back to your house." She said, raising her eyebrows.

"Um, no. Thats not how it works."

"Even if we made out on your bed?" She asked, cocking her head.

"What?"

"Oh I do it all the time. You could call me an, I don't know, expert. And you could be an expert too, I'll just have to teach you."

I couldn't believe she just said that. "You're crazy. You do know you are only fifteen, right?"

"Age doesn't matter."

I stifled a laugh, "Really? 'Fifteen and pregnant' would be a great headline, wouldn't it?"

I got her there. She slammed her locker and got closer to me. "I don't do that, you jerk. You don't know me."

"I'm pretty sure I do, I know that you play guys. So don't you think that you can get to me."

"I know you like me, Friar."

"In your drea-"

Before I finished, she pressed her lips against mine, but I pushed her off.

"What the heck was that for!?" I yelled.

She looked shocked at first, but then she smirked. "Don't think I can't get to you, Friar."

"I'd love to see you try."

And with that I walked off to lunch.

When I got to the cafeteria, the place was packed. I looked around for a place to sit, hoping that I wouldn't come eye to eye with Riley. She put me in a bad mood, even though I think I won the argument.

I got my tray and walked towards an empty table.

"Lucas wait!" Someone yelled. I turned to find Farkle jogging towards me. "You want to sit with me and my friends? I know we're not 'hot stuff' but, it's better than sitting alone... In my opinion of course, some people would think otherwise."

"I'd love to Farkle! Thanks."

"No problem." He said guiding me to his table.

I was talking to Farkles friends Bart and Larry for a while when a grape hit me in the face.

"Wha-" I started, but another grape hit me again. Now I was angry.

"Who keeps throwing grapes?!" I yelled throughout the lunchroom with a new bounce of confidence I didn't know I had.

Just then another grape hit me in the face. I picked it up and saw Riley and her friends snickering at her table.

I narrowed my eyebrows, "Really Riley?"

She sarcastically gasped, "Whatever have I done?"

My anger stirred and I threw the grape, hitting her in the mouth.

"Mr. Friar! Miss. Matthews! My office! NOW!"

Great, she got me in trouble.

I gave Riley a death stare as we walked to Ms. Tunic's office, aka, the principles office.

We got into the office and Ms. Tunic silently motioned us to sit in the couch a crossed from her chair.

She cleared her throat and started talking, "Mr. Friar, we have a policy at this school, and food fights is not something that is allowed around here."

"Riley is the one who threw the grape first not me!" I said, but quickly added, "I don't mean to sound like a tattletale, but I'm just telling the truth."

"Is that true, Miss. Matthews?" Ms. Tunic asked.

Riley shifted slightly in her chair, "Um, yes, I am very sorry, Ms. Tunic."

Ms. Tunic sighed, "I am very disappointed in you, Riley. I expected more from you."

"I'm sorry." Riley said, looking down.

"Me too. I am afraid the you and Mr. Friar both have detention today after school. In Mr. Krueger's room."

I sighed, defeated. Riley sighed as well.

"Now, get out of my office!"

Riley and I sprang up from the couch and quickly walked out of her classroom.

"Now look what you've done!" She spat.

"What I've done? You're the one who threw first!"

"Yeah, but if you wouldn't have thrown it back, I wouldn't be in detention! I've never been in detention before!"

I scoffed, "That's hard to believe."

"Stop being a smart ass, Friar."

"Me? You're the smart ass here."

She scoffed, "As if."

"Here's a thought," I started, "how about we," I motioned a finger between us, "stop talking to each other, and maybe I can try to enjoy my first year in New York. Because today has been the worst day of my life, and it's mostly because of you."

She rolled her eyes, "Jerk."

"Bitch."

She gasped and strutted to her locker, which was inconveniently beside mine. I had to get my art supplies so I went and opened my locker.

"There is no way of getting away from you, is there?" I asked, more as a comment then a question.

"I can't help that boys chase me." she said, "Wait, you have art next, don't you."

"Uh yeah."

"Me too."

I grunted, "You've got to be kidding me!"

"Enjoy it, Friar. So many guys would trade their younger siblings to be in your shoes. Your locker is right next to mine, and we pretty much have all of our classes together. You're practically a part of me."

"Yeah, no thanks."

"You want me."

"I certainly do not."

She sarcastically laughed and strutted into art, with me following her.
