I once dreamt that I was in the realm of Faerie. I had wandered into it by stepping on a vacant lot with overgrown foliage. An old tree near the center served as the doorway.I explored the realm, and in my travels, fell in love with a beautiful Faerie woman named Tin who had long dark hair, pointed ears, and large deep-set brown eyes that had a hint of gray. She was the one for me, and I took her as my wife and was a devoted husband to her.
We were inseparably happy, but a time came when I began missing my family and friends, and so my wife sent me back to my world so I could visit them.
However, on the return to Faerie, I was dismayed to learn that someone bought the empty lot, workers had begun construction, and the tree that had been the doorway was already cut down.
I was in deep despair, yearning for my Faerie wife, for months, searching for a way back to her.
One day, while poring over a book on magical portals, someone beside me in the bookstore gently squeezed my shoulder. And when I turned to look — it was my Faerie wife!
She discovered another doorway linking our worlds and spent weeks looking for me until she found me. She hid her ears in her hair so the humans wouldn't notice she was different. And she smiled the most beautiful smile before I kissed her on the lips.
