Ebony's dull grey eyes focused on the long rope ladder now in sight, stretching high above her to another small redwood structure above the main body of the house. Ebony was now stood on another balcony that protruded from the first floor of the treehouse, one that had no wall separating it from the bark of the living tree, where the ends of multiple ladders hung down from that lead to the other rooms.

Not needing much thought to identify which ladder led to her friend's room, Ebony would instinctively reach out for one of the ladders and begin to climb it, barely worried about the thought of her hands slipping. She'd climbed these ladders so many times, she had no fear of heights anymore - not to mention she could scale this tree even without a ladder if she tried hard enough, but this required more energy than whats needed to use the rope ladders so she'd gone for the easier option.

Soon enough, Ebony could reach out and grip onto the edge of the wooden floor of her friend's room, and her ears could now pick up the excited voices of two group members inside. Ebony would haul herself up onto the ledge and halt there, glancing just under the bead-ending vines that obscured what would've been a door, similar to the room she'd previously been in.

- ''Come ooon!!!''
A young, feminine voice urged from the inside of the room, and the sound of what seemed to be a fist on the redwood ground,
''I know you can run faster than that, Newtslayer, I believe in you!!!!!''

- ''I still don't think you should've named her that, Silver.''
Another voice followed on, however it sounded a bit odd, as if someone were purposefully trying to put on a dumb voice. But Ebony knew that this was Magnolia's normal tone, a quirk that made her more lovable, in Ebony's opinion.

Ebony would push herself up the rest of the way until she was fully on the balcony, standing up before wandering towards the door and pushing the tendrils out of the way. Poking her head through, she'd spot her friends - a pink axolotl and a frog who featured colours of brown, blue and white, recognisably an Amazon milk frog. They were sitting together at the end of what appeared to be a small road - a long strip of dark grey paper with lines of white paint dotted down the middle to give the impression of a road - not like either of the two amphibians had seen a road like this, they just stuck to Ebony's description of one. Two centipedes, one noticeably larger than the other, were positioned on the 'road', moving at such a pace that they'd probably stop if they went any slower.

Soon enough, the frog would spot the figure watching them through the door and wave, soon recognising her from her dark hair and the strange pattern on her face, one that she'd only ever seen on her human friend,
- ''Oh, hey Ebs! You here to watch the big race?''

- ''Why not?''
Ebony light-heartedly grinned as she entered the room, which belonged to Silver, the frog. The human would take a seat on the blue-carpeted floor beside Magnolia and rest her face on her hand,
''Who's winning so far, Silver? Dante or Newtslayer?''

- ''Eh... Dante, it seems.''
Silver would sigh, returning her golden gaze to the homemade raceway, now with the larger centipede just crossing over the far end,
''It's not really fair, he's at an advantage because he's bigger.''

Magnolia, the axolotl on Ebony's right, would shrug,
- ''Yours will grow eventually, I'm just lucky Dante had a growth spurt before Newtslayer. I- also I still don't approve of the name.''

- ''I do.''
Ebony replied back casually.

- ''It's because your ex is a newt, isn't it?''

- ''Let's not-''
Ebony soon spoke after processing half of Magnolia's sentence, placing her palms together and leaning her hand against her face with a slightly irritated and somewhat exhausted expression as if she was sick of hearing this so many times,
''I love you, dude, but let's not bring this up, he ain't my ex.''
