Chapter 14 ~ Forest Fire

Hello everyone!! I apologize for such a long wait. I'm hoping to get a few chapters out at the same time. Writers block and work have been weighing heavy on me but I'm finally ready to write this chapter!

I wanted to let you all know, at some point soon in this story I am planning to bring in a concept/idea from another anime which I hope is okay with everyone! I have had it planned for a while and I believe it is needed for Mei's story. I will be giving credit for the idea to original anime of course.

Mei's POV 

Over the next couple of days we trained to push the boundaries of our quirks. It was painful and tiring but essential to expanding our limits. Finally it came time for dinner and it was up to us to make it. "Todoroki can I get some fire over here?", this coming from Mina. 'I guess I should find a station' I thought as I scanned the area before I noticed Iida death staring a potato and then looking over to the knife he held in his hand. I chuckled and walked over, "Iida! I'll help cut up these potatoes!" I squatted down, grabbed a knife in one hand and potato in the other and began peeling. I held back a laugh when I saw Iida studying my movements and after watching a few more slices he nodded his head and began to use his new found set of skills; peeling a potato. 

The food ended up being surprisingly delicious! "Ohhhhhh man. I. Am. Stuffed", Kirishima groaned happily as he rubbed his stomach. I smiled, "I don't know if I'll be able to move for this next activity the Pussycats have planned for us. You might have to roll me Kirishima." He chuckled and got up, 'I meaaan if you say so!" he scooped me up from my seat and carried me bridal style and began to swing me back and fourth, "we're rolling in threeeeee..." "wait Kirishima I was kidding!" I said between laughs. "Twoooooooo..." I wrapped my arms around him tightly "Unhand me!" "Aaaaaand gooooooooo-" Kirishima pretended to toss me before he stopped and looked around. I turned to look and noticed the field of eyes that were on us. We stood still for a moment before quickly detaching ourselves from each other. I cleared my throat awkwardly, "Soooo, uh, where's the Pussycats anyway?" "Right hereeeee" we heard in a singsongy voice coming from Pixie-Bob. "Follow me everyone!" 

Pixie-Bob began to explain what activity it is we would be participating in. "A test of courage!" Mina jumped with joy, "A totally awesome test of courage!!" Kirishima, Sero, Kaminari and Satou all jumped in and started cheering with Mina. "Not so fast." They all froze when the heard Aizawa's voice. "The remedial class will be having lessons with me tonight instead." Before they could make a run for it Aizawa trapped them with his scarf and began to drag them off. "Mei! Save meeeeeee..." Kirishima faintly screamed as he reached his arm out. I looked at him pitifully and shrugged my shoulders, "I'm sorry! Don't worry I'll see you later!" I smiled and he pouted. Almost immediately after I said that my smile disappeared as an uneasy feeling of anxiety washed over me. 'What is this?' I shook the feeling off when Pixie-Bob explained we needed to draw teams. 

(I am once again changing the OG story a bit. Sorry!) 

"Mei, looks like were a team" I nodded and Todoroki. "Ohhhh come on, I'm stuck with you two? Half and half and this mi-", I stuck my finger in Bakugou's face. "Don't finish that sentence." I said as I looked at Bokugou, my finger still in his face. He growled and turned away crossing his arms. "Whatever, can we at give half and half to another team?" I shook my head, "Nope. I like this team just the way it is." 

"Alright team 2! You're up!" We began to make our way through the forest, Class B students continuously jumping out trying to scare us. I began to laugh at the boys frightened but dull reactions. I began to taunt them, "You guys are actually getting scared! I thought me, the little girl, was supposed to be the scared o- HOLY SHIT!!!" I screamed as a student came out from no where. I got so startled that I flew back into the boys who caught me and lifted me up. I could see the smug smirk Todoroki had out of the corner of my eye. "What was that you were saying Mei? We're the scardy ca-", Bakugou's sentenced ended in a painful groan after I gave him a punch to the gut. A small chuckle coming from Todoroki. I began to continue forward, "Whatever let's go."
