Since your brain decided that you wouldn't sleep at all, you decided to go to the engawa, wanting to stargaze. You found the moon beautiful and began to wonder about what you would do if you encountered a demon. Especially since the hashiras are... well not in the right conditions to fight.
They are all fluffy and cute, but what the hell would happen if some random demon decided to drop off here?
After thinking, you discarded the thought, deeming it as inconsequent, since there were wisteria trees all around, and no demon had ever found the demon slayers' headquarters. All thanks to Kagaya's and his predecessor's wit and thoughtfulness. You smiled at the thought of some random demon finding cats instead of humans. How confused would they be, you wonder with a giggle.
You were gently dragged out of your thoughts by an eager fluff ball, which you recognized as a certain flame hashira, rubbing itself against your lap as you sat. You being you, and completely forgetting that this man held a very high position, you took him in your arms, and gently started to thread your fingers through his orange fur, smiling as the bundle of joy started to purr contentedly.
A while passed like this, and before you could realize, your eyes were closing themselves on their own. Trying to fight the urgent need to sleep, you slowly got up, still holding Kyojuro in your arms, who was asleep by now, and started to head to your room. On the way there, you felt a chill go down your back, pretty sure that someone was watching you.
As you settled in bed, cradling Kyojuro close to your chest, you let your mind slip off to a dreamless sleep.
