The Hidden Signs

Chapter 5

A low and loud growl came from inside the chamber, two large, red glowing eyes, peered out from it. A beast with a long and box-like muzzle slowly walked out from it, It had bat like ears and dog like body, but it's tail was very long and it had a small mane made of fire trailing across it's back, it was bearing its teeth and it had a pair of large golden ram horns flickering with a red glow of heat. Libra immediately knew who it was by the ram horns: Aries... Once the beast made eye contact with Libra it crouched into a crawling position, Its growl grew louder as it slowly approached the three. The 'crowd' was quiet; everything was quiet besides Aries. Aries suddenly ran at the three, Libra still stunned and frozen with fear, Virgo ran, and Aquarius grabbed Libra and Virgo and leapt into the air, "What do we do?" Aquarius said, "The only way out is to fight them..." Virgo whispered. As they landed onto the ground they all ran in three different directions. To distract Aries, as Aries ran after them they would direct Aries into walls to weaken her slowly but efficiently without getting hurt. When Aries was on the ground struggling to get up Libra leapt on top of Aries demonic form's back and placed her hand on it's head. The growling and roaring from the beast stopped and it calmed, weak but now stopped. The 'crowd' was cheering, but Ollie seemed disappointed. The beast stood up and looked at Libra in the eyes, Aries was still there, now she was in control. Virgo noticed Ollie whisper something to Ink, Just as Virgo noticed that another door opened: Leo. A large thundering roar came from the dark room and it shook the colosseum. A slight glow appeared from the room as an enormous Lion with a mane made of fire appeared, Its eyes glowed like fire and Aquarius was just as stunned as Libra like before. This Lion is huge and could easily snatch Aquarius out of the sky like a toy. The lion looked around the colosseum and roared at the cheering crowd which silenced it immediately. The king(Or queen) of the jungle was here and was going to incinerate the four standing like sitting ducks. Aries roared back at Leo, which only made her angrier. The two beasts paced in a circle like formation, They both jumped at each other clawing and kicking, Leo managed to push Aries into the ground and it felt like the entire earth shook at once, Leo's mane flared like a wildfire, The more damage Aries took from Leo, the bigger the flames grew and hotter the heat got. Aquarius stood in shock along with Libra and Virgo. Virgo snapped out of fear quickly and noticed the small windows from the chambers; they were like prison bars. Virgo had an idea that might just work. She ran to one of the chamber windows and jumped up and grabbed onto one bar and pulled herself up to see what was inside; A large bull with horns wrapped with thorns and roots. it's hooves were made of ironwood, and it's entire outer body seemed to be made of a mountain, It paced back and forth in the chamber: Taurus, Virgo smiled and whistled as loud as she could to get Taurus's attention, Surprisingly once the bull saw Virgo, It didn't grow aggressive, It's eyes were pitch black, unlike how Aries and Leo's were, They must've been aggravated before they were released, Virgo banged on the cell wall trying to signal Taurus to charge at it to break it. Once Taurus got the memo she charged making the wall crack slowly, and again until the Cell wall was almost down. Virgo then went to the next cell, a humanoid goat-like figure sat, it had a long mane going down it's back that covered it's eyes, It had large goat horns and 5 claws on each of its massive hands it had hooves instead of feet and it's body was covered in brown fur: Capricorn. Virgo did the same thing she did to Taurus, Capricorn immediately understood, but grabbed onto the bars that Virgo was holding onto and pulled with strong jerks and it worked, Pulling and tugging. It removed the bars from the wall and Capricorn crawled out, at this point Taurus was already out and charging at other cell walls and Capricorn leapt to help. Ollie yelled at Ink pointing at the walls, A large crocodile or alligator crawled out of a broken cell wall, it had Co2 seeping out of its jaws, and its tail and legs were lined with ice: Cancer. Then the next cell wall Appeared a large Orca with Legs(?) which made Virgo chuckle a bit, it was Pisces still being the smallest. A jackal-like figure with black and white fur was running about: Gemini, and a Nightmare was also galloping about with it: Sagittarius, one was missing although one cell door remained untouched: Scorpio's.

She will be the last to be freed, but the door was opening on its own, all of the Demonic forms of the Zodiacs had stopped as they heard a rattling sound. It sounded like metal but also like sizzling fire... then a large rattlesnake and cobra hybrid slithered out, it was massive, it had a cape made of fire and its rattle was made of metal and on fire. The crowd at this point was going wild, Aquarius and Libra were trying to calm the demonic's but it wasn't working, Ollie smiled from the balcony and yelled: "Neat isn't it?" As Virgo was knocked off the wall and onto the ground. Pain flowed through Virgo's body. It felt like she had been stung with 100 needles all at once. Virgo stood up weakly, She wasn't going to give up, She looked over at Aquarius and Libra. Libra had tears rolling down her face. But Virgo couldn't tell if they were happy tears or sad tears, and Aquarius was staring at the snake, The snake hissed and it sounded like a terrifying roaring fire, The cape of the snake flared with heat and flames as it grew more aggressive, Aries and Leo were both growling at it. Suddenly a very loud explosion happened in the distance. It was not too far, It was still in the labs. Virgo looked over at Ollie and he was gone. Then she looked back the the demonics, but they weren't demonics anymore, They were there normals selves, They all stood at were the explosion came from and it had grown into a raging fire, The crowd was panicking and screaming, People were running, Aries ran over to Libra and yelled something Virgo couldn't hear. Everything was becoming blurry and Virgo couldn't hear anything, and then everything went dark. Capricorn and Scorpio both ran over to Virgo, "She has a pretty bad concussion, She was running on pure adrenaline but after she calmed down the pain and damage were just put into effect" Capricorn said, "we can't stay here any longer, we have to leave, NOW!" Scorpio yelled, picking up Virgo. The twelve then looked for a way out, The way to the hallway was closed but they didn't care, Taurus and Aries both charged at the door and busted it in, They ran through the halls and saw Ink staring at them in shock, "you little-" Aries said but getting cut off by Ink "Follow me, I know how to get you all out..." Ink said quietly, "And why should we trust you?" Sagittarius said, "Because I didn't want this to happen! I never wanted to work or be here at all"  Ink yelled over the loud siren. Then it went quiet and the twelve all decided to at least trust Ink this once and follow them to the exit. It was cold in the hallway and the alarms were going off like before. It gave Capricorn a headache listening to the alarm scream over and over again, it was like a forever maze. "There!" Ink pointed out, there was a door that had an 'Emergency Exit' sign on it. So they all burst through it, the sun was setting, "Well might as well start running now, before we get caught again..." Gemini shouted over the loud sirens that still blared even when they were outside.

It was now completely dark outside now, It was cold and the Zodiacs were lost. They needed to find a safe place to stay until they knew they were safe. They decided to climb a redwood tree and stay in the treetops until morning.
