"Rosalinda, darling!" I heard someone yell. I turned and saw my best friend Jessica running straight towards me. She quickly jumped at me before I caught her in my arms. "I've got some great news for you!"

"What's so important that it has you running towards me like a demon out of hell is chasing you, Jessica?" I asked as I set her down gently on the floor.

"So there is like this huge, enormous, everyone-who-wants-to-be-anyone-goes, fun, fantastic party tonight and this guy asked me if I wanted to go and I said yes and then being the amazing friend I am I asked if you could go too and he said yes! We're going to an actual high school party tonight!" Jessica said.

"Oh my gosh! Really?!" I said.

"Yes!" Jessica said. We both started jumping around, squealing like little fan girls. People turned to stare at us. It didn't bother us, however. That's just the way we were. "Come on, I drove today because I was running late so I can drive us to the mall and we can get new outfits for tonight!"

"Okay! I'm down for that!" I said.

I climbed into Jessica's car with her. She turned her radio on to Disney and we started singing along. I loved times like this where we could just be ourselves and have fun together. She carefully pulled out of the school parking lot before starting to drive to the mall, which is only about fifteen minutes away. When we got there we quickly exited and walked into the huge building. We ran around, glancing through the doorways trying to find a store that had decent looking dresses for tonight. It felt like we were running around a football field or something. Security yelled at us multiple times but we only slowed down until they couldn't see us anymore.

"Jess, stop!" I said. I yanked on Jessica's arm. She stopped quickly, almost losing her balance. I helped her steady herself before we entered the store. "This place has nice-looking, party-going dresses."

"I agree! We'll definitely find something here," Jessica said.

We walked around, looking at everything there is to offer. I casually glanced at a price tag and my eyes widened. Jessica came over and glanced over my shoulder.

"This is expensive. Maybe we should go somewhere else," I said.

"No!" Jessica said. She spun me so I was facing her. I felt her hand lightly slap my cheek a couple of times. "We are in our senior year of high school and this is our first party we've been invited to. We can afford to splurge just this once."

 "I don't know, Jess. It's really a lot of money," I said.

"Rose, come on. Just this once!" Jessica begged.

 "Okay," I sighed.

Jessica and I split up so we could cover the entire selection of dresses that the store had. Since we both knew what each other liked, we figured it would be faster this way. There were all sorts of dresses; long, short, high-low, maxi, mermaid, tight, loose, flowy, you name it and they have it.

"Rosalinda!" I heard Jessica scream from the other side. I rolled my eyes and jogged over to her, knowing that if I didn't get there soon then she'd scream my name again. I found her staring at a rack of dresses. "How cute would it be if we wore the same dress in different colors?! Please Rose!"

"It depends on what the dress looks like," I said.

Jessica quickly pulled off a dark blue dress from the rack. It looked short, around mid-thigh length, and had silver sequins everywhere. She then pulled out an identical one except it was dark purple.

"What do you think?" Jessica said.

"I think that we should try them on before we buy them to make sure that they fit," I said. "Thank you, Rose! You are the bestest friend ever!" Jessica squealed as she started jumping.
