Angel was lying down, in her room talking to Miley. She'd be lying if she said she wasn't bored. "How have you been?" Miley asks. "I've been good. You know, just practising for the basketball season that's coming up." She explains. "I feel like I haven't seen or talked to you in ages." Miley brings up. "I know. I don't mean to, but as I said a minute ago, basketball training is kicking me up the arse. I don't have time to do anything." Angel states.
"Yeah, can we may...." Miley starts but gets cut off by Angel. "Babe, Derek has just got here, I'm gonna go now bye." Angel cuts Miley off, after hearing Derek's voice from downstairs. "Yeah okay then," Miley says, nodding when Angel hangs up. "I Love You." The red-haired whispers but her girlfriend has ended the phone call, not heating the ending. Miley let out a frustrated sigh, when she heard the beep of the phone, gaining her sister's attention. "What's wrong sis?" Lydia asked, making her older sister look at her. "It's just, I feel like Angel doesn't love me." Miley shrugs.
"It's because she doesn't." Lydia straight up tells her. "You can't just say that Lyds, she's my girlfriend!" Miley exclaimed madly. "Well, I'm pointing out the obvious MiMi, she's in love with Derek. You are delusional if you think she isn't." Lydia seriously tells her. "She doesn't, she told me she doesn't," Miley says making herself believe. Even though deep down, she knows what her sister said is true. "You're in denial that's fine. But you've got to realise your worth, sooner or later Miley. Or you can just keep dating someone, who's totally and utterly in love with someone else." Lydia shrugs.
"When did you become so smart for an eight-year-old?" Miley asks putting her phone on charge. "I've always been smart, you just never noticed." Lydia sasses finishing painting her nails. "Okay drop the sassiness, and you can come and watch clueless with me if you ask Mum to order food," Miley says. "Deal!" Lydia exclaimed running out of the room.
Running down the stairs, Angel grabs Derek's hand. Not caring about the bags, he was carrying. "Where the heck are you taking me, Angelica?" The black-haired boy asked, as his best friend dragged him out the back of the house. "We're going to our secret spot, you dinlo." She tells him, picking up her pace so no one can see where they're going.
"I'm not stupid. I think anyone would ask where they're heading off too. In this situation anyways." He says sarcastically. "Shut your pie hole Der, you're not funny." She says turning to face him with an annoyed smile. "Jeez, what is it with you and bruising my ego." Derek places his hand on his heart. "I like knocking you off your high horse." Angel smiles at him. "Yeah well, if you would stop I'd respect it." Angel pretends to think about it, before looking into the forest.
"Nope, I find it amusing you in pain." She says dragging him further. They walk for a couple of minutes in comfortable silence, holding hands. Pushing the branches and leaves out of their way, they come to a lovely, isolated lake. "Here we are. Do you remember how we found this area?" Derek asks. "How could I forget we were six." Angel sighs, thinking of the memory.
Flashback-March 1994
"Come back, Angelica." A six-year-old Derek giggles out. "Never, you've got to catch me first." A six-year-old Angel says running. She was looking behind her to see where Derek was. Not looking where she was going, she tripped over a tree stump, that sent her tumbling down a hill. Not missing a beat, Derek ran faster to catch up when he heard her scream. Standing at the top of the hill, Derek looks down seeing Angel is covered in vines.
"Are you okay down there?" He shouts towards the girl. Angel lifts her hand in the air sticking her thumb up to Derek to indicate she's fine. Slowly making his way down the hill. His foot fell into a hole, making him fall down the hill as well. He had a softer landing than he thought he would. "Derek you just crushed me, get off," Angel said, her voice being muffled due to her being under Derek. "Sorry, I fell." Derek innocently said.
