Puck's POV
My lungs draw in a deep breathe, as I quietly slide into the infirmary and draw back the curtains to the bed at the end of the hall, sliding onto the edge of the bed, I draw back the sheets.
Revealing a sleeping Jay his light almond brown hair dusting over his soft tan skin. His soft lips are slightly parted as he sucks in air, and exhales, his chest lightly rising and falling as he does.
A smile pulls at my lips as I trace the soft curvature of his collar bones that slightly peaks out of his light blue shirt. He shifts slightly and turns towards me his fingers gracefully sliding up my arms, in a sensual way, he doesn't part his eyes, but feels with his fingers.
Gliding over my arms and then up my shoulder to my lips he runs his pads over my face, examining it and cocking a half frown and small miniscule smile that was almost lost in the frown.
"Puck shouldn't you be celebrating right now?!" He ask me in a harsh whisper, his voice raspy and quiet, even though we're the only people in the infamiry right now!
I raise a hand pressing his in my own to my face, enjoying the cool temperature that he emits, although, this is another sign of his sickness that is getting worse with time. His heart is failing, his eyesight already went, but there are more complicated problems that are consuming his life.
"I don't care about them!" I says like a whiny child, even though tonight was my nineteenth birthday. My Mother had gone all out and invited everyone even though were fighting a war, she decided celebrating my birthday was just as important.
Maybe my mother is just worried that I wouldn't find anyone. Though she doesn't voice the worry in words Instead she sent me away last year to study abroad in Europe, I stayed in England, because I didn't want to be close to the inner part of Europe that is a hot zone for fighting, just like the Eastern Coast in the United States. We basically live right in the middle of the War Zone.
A lot of smaller packs have joined into my mother's Pack and more into the other upper level Alpha's, everyone is hungry for protection and my mother can provide that, although, lately she seems to be distant.
She'd have had me stay in England due to the fact that the fighting is not as prevalent on the island. But I refused when I found out about Jay's condition. I refused to be apart from him. Jay wasn't my bound, although, I hoped that he was when I was little and even now I wouldn't be upset if he never found his and I never found mine.
My Mother never talks about her bound, although, I know that it wasn't my father, he talks about his bound sometimes, my mother doesn't seemed bothered about this... but if I ask her about her she shut down not wanting to talk about it at all. My Mother has many secrets that she doesn't tell people, even my father, I heard them arguing earlier this week when I got home.
My Father was losing trust in my Mother, something occurred around the time I was born. Hence the long jagged claw mark that runs over my eye and a little bit of my lip, my chest is cut up as well. Apparently, when I was born my mother was attacked and I was injured.
