A Wolf's Blood (hold)

III - Vermillon

Embry's POV

The air swirls around me as I clutch the compass Mum gave me in my hands! My eyes water as I cry a soundless scream comes out of my mouth as I fall, it feels like I am being suspended in mid-air.

Although soon enough, the sounds of the air floating past my ear turns into a whistling sound! Where was Fen? Where was my brother? That is the last thought I'd hear before, I slam into the ground... er water at full force, the air is driven from my lungs.

As the shock of the water paralyzes my body! My mouth open in a soundless scream of pain as water begin to flow into my mouth. Soon enough the waters fills my lungs as I feel suffocated! I was drowning, what an unpleasurable way to go out.

Something inside me snapped to attention and clawed its way to the surface, I felt my body shift on it own volition, as I sink further into the dark waters that lay below. 

A new scream work its way into my throat, as my skin tears and my inky red blood starts to flow around me in the water. Once my body is fully shifted, my wolf battles against the current. Her paw stroke propelling us forcefully up to the waterline, breaking the surface. I guzzle in the air, as she drags us towards the embankment.

She collapses on the shore, my chest heaves and I give a painful jerk as the bones begin to break, sounding like crunchy pretzels as the process continues. The ligaments and fur flowing back under the skin, I jerk again, fighting another scream from leaving my mouth. I felt tears run out of my eyes.

Soon enough I can feel my legs forming, although my upper body is giving me trouble, I didn't know if I had enough willpower to change back completely. But I force my body to do it anyway, my wolf folding into my skin.

My new flesh covered in blood and tender and sore to the touch, the change was a bitch. It hurts and leaves me feeling as weak as a newborn pup. I moan in pain as I feel something sharp stick into my skin as I move.

Looking down, I find a sliver hopped earing pushing into my skin. Soon it starts to sink into my skin, a deep burning pain begins to spread through my body up towards my head alerting my brain of the even increasing pain.

Quickly, I dig my fingernails into my skin and pull the hot silver from my skin, my blood shinnying on the earring as I toss it away from me. Feeling even more exhausted I lay my cheek against the cool wet sand. Shiver rake my body as I feel the cold night air batter my body. I don't even know where I am and on top of that I lost the compass. 

  How was I ever going to find my brother? Not to mention I have no idea what happened to mum. I thought bitterly as the dark tendrils of sleep pull me under into there cold embrace.

   I feel my eyes flutter but close when I see a bright light. Quickly I shut my eyes not being able to handle the flare of light at the moment. Breathing softly, I suck down air into my throat noting at there is a  blanket covering my naked body. 

 Shifting, I feel dried blood on my skin. Then I hear a voice but there is a ringing and I can't quite understand what they are saying. Trying to tone out the ring, I want to understand what is going on. First thing need to find out where I am second need to locate means to find my brother. 

"Can you hear me?" A soft feminine voice ask me and I turn towards the sound. Trying to open my eyes. Slowly but surely I manage to pry them open and they adjust to the light. In front in front of me is a girl about my age. She's got a cute impish figures and soft carmel skin that seems to have its own inner glow. Her hair is pulled to the side in a ponytail, it's a soft brown and auburn. 

  Her lips are slightly parted as she looks at me and I move my way up to look at her in the eyes, they are a light brown that seems even lighter with a glow of light. She seems to be pleased that I am looking at her.
